Jason Richardson the new face of the bobcats franchise???
Micheal Jordan was an excellent player, but I dont think he actually knows what he is doing...He had the oppurtunity to try and snag Rashard Lewis (the best available free agent), but instead he goes out and signs injury proned Jason Richardson to be the face of the franchise...I hope J Rich comes through for Mike or Mike will be out of a job soon...
Re: Jason Richardson the new face of the bobcats franchise???
Rashard's nothing special, especially at the money he's going to be getting. Richardson will be a good fit for Charlotte. He's the legitimate scorer, who can also put fans in the stands, they need to contend for a lower playoff spot(though they still won't be good enough to get one). Why do you call Richardson injury prone? Last year was the only year he's had problems. Every other year, except for the 2004-2005 season(72 games), he's played over 75 games.

I feel sorry for him. Being a big part of the Golden State playoff run and teaming up with Baron Davis and having success, then they ship him off like a trading card to a lower-ranked team. Must be hard for him.

Also hard: shooting more threes than free throws and still being known as a high-flying dunker.

Everybody knows Michael loves to gamble, and you can definitely see how that mentality might affect some of the decisions he makes as a GM. I bet we'll see a lot of moves (this one included) that are make-or-break type moves, ones that sacrifice young talent and long term development for players who could help the team win now but who could also be big busts.

He was not gambling...
Not to mention Charlotte basically didn't even want to draft, they were shopping the pick before the draft.
I don't know about B. Wright, I don't watch college ball, but Richardson fills a need at SG.
Signing Lewis makes no sense if they want to keep G. Wallace, and they have Morrison waiting in the wings (I'm not sold on him, but the key is, THEY are.)
Re: Jason Richardson the new face of the bobcats franchise???
I do think they will resign Gerald Wallace, hes only 24.
Raymond felton still has potential to be an all star PG.
They have pieces, I still think adam Morrison will be a solid 6th man. I never saw him as an all star, but he can score and he will provide great 6th man play, and about 15 points off the bench.
PG-Felton
SG-Rich
SF-Wallace
That right there is a great perimeter defensive 3. Felton has all the tools to be a lockdown PG defender.

I like the move. They get a guy that can get you 20 and 5 every single season (aswell as shoot the ball well), and can entertain the fans with some of his acrobatics.
Plus he's a vet. Okafor patrols in the paint and is drawing attention down there, and I think a healthy May can be a good compliment at pf. Plus he's only got 4 years left on his contract which isn't exactly an overpaid contract for a vet. I think it was smart. They needed to start spending money anyways. I don't think they could've gotten Lewis or anybody else without grossly overpaying.
