Default Oden wasn't a given in Portland

Portland GM Kevin Pritchard fielded many trade offers for the TrailBlazer's No. 1 draft pick. He took a call from an Eastern Conference general manager, with whom he had past dealings. The executive made an offer that was moderate in shock value: A five-time All-Star and this year's lottery pick in exchange for the No. 1 pick and the Blazers' 2008 first-round pick. As enticing as the offer was -- the Blazers in years past had made a run at the All-Star player -- Pritchard declined on the spot. A team within the Blazers division proposed a trade involving a future Hall of Famer and a standout rookie for the Blazers' No. 1 pick. As Pritchard described it, he stayed up until 3 a.m. in his hotel room with his staff considering the offer.
From SI.com.

Which 5 time all stars are ther ein the east?

The player wasn't an all star this year (no 5 time all stars were selected in the east.) So that leaves JO & Paul Pierce...
probably PP and their pick. The Pacers didn't have a lottery pick.

And who are the future half of famer and a stand out rookie from their division? Foye & Garnett? Foye isnt a standout. Other than that there ae no teams with standout rookies in the Northwest....

Regardless of what that article says, the only superstar the Blazers would even seriously consider giving the number 1 pick up for is Lebron James. That is the only trade that would even swirl around the mind of Kevin Pritchard for a long while.

lebron will only go to the finals and lose them all and go 0/6 contrary to Michael Jordan who went 6/6
