Miami Heat president and coach Pat Riley has recently been involved in trade talks with other teams, targeting Sacramento Kings guard Mike Bibby and forward Ron Artest, and Los Angeles Clippers forward Corey Maggette.

Any of those would be a nice asset for that team, but who would they give up? Dorell Wright, Haslem? I'd love to see Dorell get a decent chance, he might be better than GWallace.

Heat: Posey could agree to sign-and-trade
The News
Free agent James Posey would agree to be used in a sign-and-trade deal if the Heat was unwilling to offer a new contract to keep him in Miami. Posey is an unrestricted free agent and free to deal with another team without having to work out an arrangement with the Heat, but he is willing to wait for the best opportunity, according to the Miami Herald. "When it gets to this time of the year, you have to have an open mind about everything," Posey's agent, Mark Bartelstein said. "[Posey] would like to go back to Miami, but he's going to make the best decision he can for him."
Our View
Utah, Dallas, Denver, New Jersey, Cleveland and the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly all have an interest in Posey, who averaged 7.7 points this past season in South Beach.

Slim possbility we acquire any of those players.
I'm all for just throwing Dorell out there, letting him start side Shaq/Wade...But Riley hasn't commited to him consistently all this time, so it's doubtful he does all of a sudden.
The stretch last year in which he started, he produced. Then fuggin Rothstein put him in the doghouse for Kapono. Just doesn't make sense..
Re: Heat talking trade for Bibby, Artest, Maggette
Seems like Maggette can be had for the right combination of expiring contracts and youth. Miami has the expiring contracts of Jason Williams (whom I doubt they would give up), Doleac (if he picks up his option), and Zo (who is probably about to play his last year). I could see the Clips trading Maggette for Doleac, Zo, and a pick simply to get rid of his salary.
Don't think they have the pieces for the other two.

Clipps won't trade Maggette for just expirings...He's their 2nd best scorer
Didn't see much of them last year so maybe I'm out of date but the year before that, when they got to game 7 of the West semis, Maggs clearly seemed out of place and the odd man out in terms of the direction the team was trying to go.
However, Maggs' contract was only a problem because the team was looking for money to resign Liv. Probably don't need that anymore. Kid may never play again.

True, I like Wright, when they gave him playing time he showed flashed that he can be an all-star in the league, If I was the heat I wouldnt trade Wright.....this was simular to when they had Rickey Davis 5 years ago, nobody knew about him and then when he left the heat and went to the Cavs, he was a 18ppg player.

I thought Maggette played great in that series when playing substantial min. LA was looking to pound the ball inside yet Corey still found a way to contribute... hitting the glass and getting to the line.
As an aside that was one of the better WCS in recent memory.Shawn Marion played out of his mind in that series.I dont get this myth that's perpetrated that he dissapears in the playoffs....thats just false.
But to the point.... I don't think the Clipps can afford to lose Maggette.
