A league source suggested any talks between the Bulls and Grizzlies are in the preliminary stages. But Memphis general manager Chris Wallace flew to Argentina in recent days to meet with Nocioni, sources confirmed.

One theory is the Bulls would be willing to send Nocioni, first-round draft pick Joakim Noah, backup point guard Chris Duhon and filler to the Grizzlies in exchange for the 7-foot Gasol, who averaged 20.8 points and 9.8 rebounds last season.

Nocioni is a restricted free agent, which means the Bulls can match any offer the third-year forward receives. Bulls general manager John Paxson stated emphatically Monday that he’ll match any offer sheet for Nocioni.

Besides chasing Gasol this summer, the Bulls figure to make a similar, but more lucrative, offer to Minnesota for Kevin Garnett, who was mentioned in numerous trade rumors prior to the NBA draft.

The Bulls are also interested in acquiring the rights to Spanish league power forward Luis Scola from San Antonio. Nocioni is not likely to be involved in a trade to the Spurs. The Bulls may offer Duhon if he is not included in a larger deal.

Darko should sign with the Hawks where he would get playing time and touches to develop.
Or with the Rockets to try to get a second ring

How many years would the Bulls give Darko? While Gasol and KG would help the Bulls (think Gasol would be easier to obtain). Darko seems like the likely choice.

So do the trade and sign Darko for 2 yrs! Leave you with something like so..
C: Wallace/Grey
PF: Gasol/ Darco/Thomas
SF: Deng/ Griffen
SG: Gordon/Thabo
PG: Hinrich/ Curry

I would say thats a much improved team.

That would great for the bulls killer line up. They would finally have a go to guy in the post. Doesn't Darko want more than the MLE so getting him might be a bit hard but even with out him they would be pretty good.

Yeah but I doubt they would do both. Paxon wouldn't let Thomas be a third string.

Sounds like a good time to try to package Nocioni, a few players and a first rounder to bring over Gasol to the Bulls.

Oh hell yeah! Do it Paxson... The Bulls would keep Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich. Damn!! Please let this work out. A lineup of Wallace/Gasol/Deng/Gordon/Hinrich will be EC champions.

Thats a killer lineup, but they'll still need a backup SF and PG. That bench would be absolute crap.

Thabo has played a bit of the 1,2, and 3. Id be fine with him as a backup swingman. I dont know much about JamesOn Curry. Can he play point?

Curry is a combo gaurd as I have heard, so yes he could play the point and in fact I would perfer it if he did since he's only 6'3.
