Default Noc should take the money and go to Memphis................

Noc is one of my favorite players, but he deserves a chance to start and play 35 minutes per game. Playing on the Bulls he will always be stuck in Loul Dengs shadow (deservedly or not), and he is too short/small to play the 4. I'll miss him but a guy who averaged 22+/8 against the Heat in the 2006 playoffs deserves to start.

I also think Mike Miller would be a better fit on the Bulls because he can play the 2/3/4 and Noc is a pure 3. Noc is unquestionably the better player when healthy, but Miller is still very good. Noc is also not a great fit for the Bulls because he needs to start to really be effective, off the bench he is good but not great. As a starter he'll give you 16/6, on great shooting percentages, (close to 50% from 3, over 60% from midrange), takes it to the basket hard and draws fouls, rebounds, defense, blocks, etc. His only weakness is he isn't a powerforward, and he isn't a gaurd.

Anyway, he will be great next to Pau and may even become a borderline star in memphis.

Sharing time with Rudy Gay, Hakim Warrick, Stromile Swift and the newly resurgent Brian Cardinal at SF/PF will be soooo cool.

LOL @ what I just said about Brian Cardinal, btw

I'd love to see Nocioni in Memphis, mostly because I just really like them both. But it's not like there aren't guys there to eat into his minutes. He doesn't escape that problem by leaving Chicago.

He would have the same exact problem in Memphis with Rudy Gay there as he did with Luol Deng in Chicago.

That may be true.

But energy/pesky/dirty players always give Shaq teams fits.

Shaq usually ends up trying to rip their heads off by the end of the game.

See:

Fortson (I know, not necessarily an "energy" guy anymore)
Kirilenko
Varejao

and many more

Part of it is their fearlessness to peck at Shaq physically and drive toward him... part of it is the slow, extremely structured style Shaq's teams use... very predictable.

Rudy Gay is more versatile and can play the 2 or the 4, warrick is an undersized 4, Cardinal is a combo 3/4 (too slow for the 3, too short for the 4, but with enough offense, shooting, and hustle to be usefull).

He should go the Spurs, then he'll be playing along side Ginobili.

The Spurs know what Andres Noc can do, and the Spurs is the perfect fit. Only Noc will come off the bench.

Rudy Gay is more athletic and versatile then Deng so he could play either the 2 or the 4 easily. He also isn't anywhere close to as good as Nocioni, so he would be 2-3 years away for even competing for the starting spot.

Didn't Nocioni contemplate going back to overseas because of the selfish nature of the NBA and lack of team play?
Anyways, of course he wouldn't go back now when he can make 7-8 mill here.

To the point now, I don't think the Grizz would be a good place for him. Mike Miller and Rudy gay are guaranteed 30-35 minutes and Warrick warrants pt as well. I guess he could play some 3/4, but it sounds like Chicago all over again.

I would love to see him on the Spurs. I know they just won the championship and they would become more stacked, but I would to see one of my favorite players on thrive on the right team.

Add Gary Trent to that list. The most effective player against Shaq the Wolves have ever had.

And a bonus photo from my "celebrity make-out" collection:

i agree with sakf that going over to memphis doesn't guarantee nocioni more minutes. memphis eventually wants gay to be "the guy" at the SF spot for them in the future.

The Bulls aren't looking to trade anything for Gasol.
