Default Top 24 under 24

I found this on another website. Agree or disagree?
http://themelobackpedal.com/2007/04/10/9/
Quote:
#1) LeBron James, 6’8” 240 (22) 27.3ppg, 6.8rpg, 6apg, 1.6spg (Cleveland Cavaliers)
Probably one of the top 5 players in the league, and should be an All-Star for at least the next decade

#2) Dwight Howard, 6’11” 265 (21) 17.7ppg, 12.2rpg, 1.9apg, 1spg, 1.9bpg, .602 FG% (Orlando Magic)
Best young big man in the league and arguably the best 21-year-old big man since Shaquille O’Neal, 15 years ago

#3) Carmelo Anthony, 6’8” 230 (22) 29ppg, 5.9rpg, 3.9apg, 1.2spg (Denver Nuggets)
Capable of dropping 40 on any given night, already considered one of the best offensive players in the league

#4) Chris Bosh, 6’10” 225 (23) 22.4ppg, 10.5rpg, 1.4bpg, 2.4apg (Toronto Raptors)
I’ve been more impressed with Bosh than any player in the league this year; he’s my East MVP (if that was an award)

#5) Deron Williams, 6’3” 210 (22) 16.8ppg, 3.3rpg, 9.5apg, 1.1spg (Utah Jazz)
Has emerged into one of the best young point guards in the entire league and should be an All-Star next year

#6) Chris Paul, 6’0” 175 (21) 17.6ppg, 4.2rpg, 8.6apg, 1.9spg (New Orleans Hornets)
Another great young point guard who should be an All-Star for many years to come, if he can stay healthy

#7) Andre Iguodala, 6’6” 209 (23) 18.2ppg, 5.8rpg, 5.6apg, 2spg (Philadelphia 76ers)
Had 25 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds on Feb 2nd against GSW was just a glimpse of what he has done this year

#8) Luol Deng, 6’9” 220 (22) 18.9ppg, 7rpg, 2.5apg, 1.2spg (Chicago Bulls)
In only his third year as a pro, has emerged as a very solid role player for one of the top teams in the East

#9) Josh Smith, 6’9” 235 (21) 15.8ppg, 8.4rpg, 3.2apg, 1.4spg, 2.9bpg (Atlanta Hawks)
Aside from a few shouting matches with his coach, Smith has become one of the most exciting players in the league

#10) Raymond Felton, 6’0” 205 (22) 14.2ppg, 3.5rpg, 7apg, 1.4spg (Charlotte Bobcats)
Another solid point guard from the 2005 class, he’s probably one of the top 15 or 20 point guards in the league

#11) Brandon Roy, 6’6” 210 (22) 16.2ppg, 4.4rpg, 4apg, 1.2spg (Portland Trailblazers)
Arguably this year’s top rookie, Roy has been fantastic when he’s been healthy and has proven he’ll be a great pro

#12) Al Jefferson, 6’10” 256 (22) 15.6ppg, 11rpg, 1.2apg, 1.5bpg (Boston Celtics)
The lone bright spot for a horrendous Celtics team this season; he’s improved his game each of his first three years

#13) Nenad Kristic, 7’0” 255 (23) 16.4ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.8apg, 1bpg (New Jersey Nets)
When healthy, one of the top big men in the Eastern conference, and should be an All-Star very soon

#14) JR Smith, 6’6” 220 (21) 14ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.6apg, 1spg (Denver Nuggets)
Big-time outside threat, Smith has really come into his own with Denver after two so-so years in New Orleans

#15) Andrea Bargnani, 7’0” 240 (21) 11.5ppg, 3.9rpg, 1apg, 1.1bpg (Toronto Raptors)
Has been getting rave reviews this year as a rookie, and is arguably the top young international player in the league

#16) Shaun Livingston, 6’7” 185 (21) 9.3ppg, 3.4rpg, 5.1apg, 1.1spg (Los Angeles Clippers)
Still considered one of the top young point guards in the league, but three years on the bench has to make you wonder

#17) Marvin Williams, 6’9” 230 (20) 12.5ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.8apg (Atlanta Hawks)
The number two overall selection in 2005, Williams has still shown enough that he could be something special someday

#18) Andrew Bogut, 7’0” 245 (22) 12.3ppg, 8.8rpg, 3apg, .553 FG% (Milwaukee Bucks)
Somewhat of a modest start for the top overall selection in 2005, but still young enough to emerge as a top tier NBA Center

#19) Gerald Green, 6’8” 205 (21) 9.7ppg, 2.5rpg, 1apg (Boston Celtics)
In only two short years as a pro, Green has gone from strictly a high-flying dunker to a solid young all-around player

#20) Andris Biedrins, 6’11” 235 (21) 10.2ppg, 9.6rpg, 1.8bpg, 1.1apg, .605 FG% (Golden State Warriors)
Double-double threat who, in his third year, has been the perfect big man in Golden States up-tempo style

#21) Monta Ellis, 6’3” 180 (21) 16.8ppg, 3rpg, 4.1apg, 1.6spg (Golden State Warriors)
A 2nd round pick in 2005, Ellis has become a starter and lethal offensive weapon under Don Nelson in Golden State

#22) Rudy Gay, 6’9” 220 (20) 10.8ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.2apg, 1spg, 1bpg (Memphis Grizzlies)
Likely to be a 1st team All-Rookie selection, Gay should be a perennial All-Star sometime down the road

#23) Darko Milicic, 7’0” 250 (21) 8.1ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.1apg, 1.8bpg (Orlando Magic)
Although the production still isn’t completely there, still one of the best young big men in the league

#24) Charlie Villanueva, 6’11” 240 (22) 11.8ppg, 5.8rpg, 1apg (Milwaukee Bucks)
Injuries have limited last year’s runner-up for ROY, but has the ability to be a very solid all-around player when healthy

I also think it's a good list, but the order is just way off.

Dwight Howard = overrated.

He's only ahead of Bosh, Carmelo, Deron and Chris Paul based on his potential (at least some people's opinion of what it is). He's not a better player than any of them.

Completely agree.

The top 5 should be

1. James
2. Melo
3. Bosh
4. Deron
5. Paul

I think that TJ Ford should be on that list and that he should replace Darko.

So given the chance, you would build your team around Bosh rather than Dwight?

i guess he factored in the age. howard is 2 years younger and already put up stats close to bosh. And he already has a bigger impact on the defensive end.

YES...and this is why

everytime i saw a magic/ raptors game this year Bosh absolutely erased Dwight from the game. Dwight looked like a freshman playing against a highschool star(bosh). So then you think to yourself, oh thats because bosh is a proven star and Dwight hasn't even scratched his potential yet right? , then you realize Chris Bosh is only 23 and is already this good!!!!

at 21 he put up 17/9 on 47%, howard is putting up 17/12 on 60%

bosh is good but dwight has the body to be the best big man ever (not saying he will be) and actually has a personality.

dwight shows very little signs of ever having, even close, to the offensive arsenal Chris Bosh has. You could argue Bosh is one of the toughest players to gaurd in the game already with combined range, quickness, athleticism.

offensively- Bosh>>>>Dwight
Defensively-Dwight>>Bosh
Rebouding- Dwight>>Bosh
Range- Bosh>>>>>>>>>>Dwight
Versitility- Bosh>>Dwight
Handle- bosh>>>>dwight
IQ- Bosh>>>Dwight

Defense wins........what?

CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Why would I want to build my team around a big guy that hangs around the perimeter for jumpers and fadeaways?

That's the guards' job.
