Just like I said, bits and pieces.

I know Clockers is coming on TV One tonight, so I'll check it then. As far as the other two, if I can get the chance, I'll check it out.

I think Kobe would have found a way to make that situation uninteresting. I would much rather see Spike do a doc on a player who is not afraid to show all the layers of his personality. Ron Artest, Sheed, Birdman, Bill Russell, and players of that ilk would have been infinitely more interesting. Or possibly a doc on Zeke's 1st year at FIU. I am actually not even interested in the doc he is doing about MJ. MJ is one of the most bland superstars off the field/court/pitch in the history of sports.

I think he should do an NYC documentary with Rafer Alston,Ron Artest and Lamar Odom. How they each went their sturggles. Also, ask Lamar why the hell isnt he playing at all star level? That guy is one of the most talented players I have ever seen, hands down.

Spike and Denzel are linking up again for a sequel to Inside Man, but I am more interested in the James Brown biopic he is doing with Wesley Snipes. James' life could easily make for a trilogy of films, and I want to see which period of Jame's life he will focus on.

Period One: Orphan Shoe shine boy who lives in a whorehouse becomes star, after serving a bid, being a boxer, shoe shine boy, and baseball player. I would probably end this section with Try Me becoming a smash and James appearing on The Ed Sullivan show.

Period Two: Black and I am proud James. This would probably be highlighted by James going natural, Say It Loud, and his help in calming down Black people after the death of Dr. King.

Period Three: Drug induced craziness. Car chases, and him dealing with having to stop touring.

i think he is a very good director and social

gadfly at the same time.
The only thing Spike Lee is "very good" at is being a racist. Most of his films suck ass, generally because he's too heavy-handed and agenda-driven about black powa that he can't let the viewer just sit and enjoy. Like I said in another thread, mediocre filmmaker at best, pathological bigot at worst.

do the right thing was his great film, other than that he has tinkered between good films- 25th hour and extreme mediocrity- he got game. something i hate about spike lee films is when they descend into pathetic melodramatic cheese- his schmoltzy monologues that seem to pop up really bring the films down.

clockers/summer of sam/inside man were all solid as i recall.
