I started watching wrestling again, just follow it on recaps but I did watch tonight's PPV and it sucked.

Bryan's match was boring. I don't get the guy and the YES chants are ridiculous. Horrible end to the match.

Shield/Evolution sucked but there were some great spots. Batista is done. Nobody seems to care about him. He doesn't have the impact as he did when he was a regular.

Both those matches were great. The crowd was shit though.

I thought he had a 2 year contract, probably a Brock schedule.

I liked his return though if it meant bringing back the Evolution stable.

This whole "Adapt or Perish" thing has to be leading to a change up of Evolution and I have a strong feeling one of the Shield members will be taking Batista's place.

Naturally if they went in that direction it would probably be Reigns, but I hope they turn Rollins instead for something fresh, a smaller guy in Evolution.

just watched Extreme Rules and it was average. they should stop the cages matches, especially with cena. those matches are outdated, i would prefer a last man standing any day.

also cena needs a break, a 3 month break. his matches are very bad, so slow and boring. the match 2 days ago was the worst i saw this year.

bryan - kane is enough, also they should stop with the ' bryan always underdog, always injured before games ' angle

Agreed. I'm not liking this continuous Kane as "Jason Voorhees" storyline.

DB always injured and STILL the "underdog" is undermining him as the champ too. It's just weird

that raw was pretty underwhelming.

brie's not getting an oscar anytime soon lol.

"demon" kane returning to his monster persona is cool but this 80s teenage horror movie angle is pretty bad. i.e. "the car won't start!" "there's a wire unhooked." "oh, i got it."

it's just like everything that happened at extreme rules meant nothing. everything is where is was at before that ppv.

My problems with current day wrestling:
- Too many belts
- Gimmicks not noticeable - everyone wears the same stuff and looks the same.
- Champions change all the time.

When I watched wrestling in the 80's and 90's the belt was given to every asshole out there. We didn't see Duggan, Roberts, Earthquake, Perfect, Santana, DiBiase or other mid-card wrestlers win the heavy weight championship.

Many people thought a guy like Rick Rude, DiBiase or Mr. Perfect deserved to win it once. Sure, but it would have weakened the belt in my eyes unless one of them won it through cheating.

During my childhood I witnessed the following guys hold the belt:
-Hulk Hogan
-Randy Savage
-Ultimate Warrior
-Sgt Slaughter (lame)
-Ric Flair
-Yokozuna
-Bret Hart
-Shawn Michaels
-Diesel
-Sid
-Steve Austin
-Rock
-Undertaker

Once you had guys like HHH, Foley, and other non-superstars winning it every other week it cheapened the belt. It changes hands almost daily now, Cena, Orton, Batista - it just keeps jumping around.

The WWE died for me once and for all after they lost their last great superstar, Kurt Angle. Absolutely great gimmick.

the wwe has the:

1. wwe world heavyweight title
2. intercontinental title
3. us title
4. tag team titles
5. divas title

that's only 5. in the late 90s and early 2000s they had more titles. the number is fine. the thing is that they never make the mid-card titles a stepping stone for guys anymore, and the tag division is on life support so no one cares about the tag titles. and ofc no one has ever cared about the divas (not women's) title.

and there are noticeable gimmicks it's just that gimmicks have evolved to try and be more "realistic" or "down to earth" instead of the wacky, over the top gimmicks we saw a lot of during the attitude era. we still have "out there" characters like kane, the wyatts, and undertaker, but wwe wants the characters to be more relatable, extensions of the people playing them.

champions don't change now NEARLY as much as they did in the early 2000s and attitude era. **** dean ambrose just lost the u.s. title after having it for almost a year. the usos just got the tag titles back and aren't losing them for a while. aj just lost the divas title a few weeks ago after having the longest reign as champion, and the ic title was just lost after big e had it for a while.

even with the wwe/world heavyweight title, cena hasn't had them in a while and bryan isn't losing the strap anytime soon either. i'd say the championships are pretty stationary.

It's not close to being the best it's ever been. It's improving though. A hell of a lot better than it was 3-4 years ago

Once the second lot of WWE guys left for WCW I was done.

I would have been far more into it if the WCW guys all came over and were used properly. Sting, Austin and Undertaker could have had some epic matches. Same with Goldberg/Rock/Austin

Did you watch wcw from mid to late 96 until the end of 97?

If so do you think it's as good or better than 88-93?

IMO 96-97 WCW nitro was close to being the best wrestling television ever..
