I like cruiserweight wrestlers but I don't like the idea of having an inferior division. The only guy that got over during the cruiserweight days was Rey.
Bryan would be a cruiserweight. Cody Rhodes would be a cruiserweight. Kofi as well. They have had a lot for good "cruiserweight" wrestlers the last 3 or 4 years. Punk would have started out in the cruiserweight division if it was around after 2007 and who knows how his career would have turned out if he was looked upon as a cruiserweight earlier.
It's better that smaller guys aren't being separated from the big boys. And it's good to see that Vince is giving them some love over the big steroid-looking freaks.
It's not boxing or MMA. It's scripted wrestling, weight classes shouldn't matter.
... and X-Pac, Dean Malenko, Billy Kidman, Scotty 2 Hotty, Jamie Noble, Tajiri, Chavo and Matt Hardy.
None of those guys you listed were even given an I.C. run. Matt was the only other guy that had some good feuds (Jeff, MVP, Edge) and was the U.S. champ. Chavo's had a few sucess with Eddie and Rey. I wouldn't count WWE's ECW heavyweight title as a real world title when they barely got any PPV matches for them.
They were kept on Velocity, Heat and opening Smackdown shows.
Not their fault they weren't main eventing. Doesn't stop them from being over.
Going to WWE Payback tonight! Should be a good show. Can't wait to hear the place erupt when Punk's theme song hits. Scott Hall has been posting on Twitter all morning literally right outside the Allstate Arena. I wonder what's up with that. Would be epic if he made an appearance tonight. I think he's probably just visiting friends though. But look at his Twitter account. He posted pics of the actual Allstate Arena, the Chilis right next door and the IHOP right next door.
