You're right. However, every Thursday, owner Larry H. Miller is on 1280 the zone. Before everyone gets muzzled about FA's except for two representatives per team, they asked him about some free agents. When KG came up he said something like, you'd be crazy not to think about trying to get him [KG]. If we could do something that left two unnamed young core players here...now that would be somethin.
Think of the possibilities
x (1 of 4 prosepects)
Mo Pete (signing would be done deal with KG)
Plus KG could get used to a title contender....
ok, that's enough dreaming about what will really not happen.
minny would not do that. AK has a horrible deal and okur isnt great. i think green and bynum both have more upside than those 2. plus both ratliff AND kwame are expirers. theyre gonna free up 20 mill after this season. thats actually a pretty big draw for the other deal and makes it not so bad.
AK's deal does suck. But I still choose two all stars over bynum...
After James trade, Foye ready to be full-time starter for Wolves
Foye will be starting at PG for the Wolves next year. So here's what the lineup would look like after that trade.
PG - R. Foye/M. Jaric/T. Hudson
SG - R. Davis/R. McCants/B. Wright
SF - G.Green/T. Hassell/C. Brewer
PF - J. Howard/T. Ratliff/K. Brown/C. Smith
C - M. Blount/A. Bynum/M. Madsen
Minnesota has a veteran presence to teach the young guys. They got expiring contracts (K.Brown and T. Ratliff) at the end of the year. J. Howard expires in 2 years. They have LOTS of really young talent. Bynum would be going into his 3rd season, Foye into his second, Brewer and Wright are rookies. Green is really young. Sure they might not be great next season, but even if Minnesota keeps KG, I think they are expected to finish in the bottom of the west. Might as well start rebuilding and get these guys some chemistry and experience together.
The Lakers don't really have enough to offer to get KG.
The problem with this trade is that SO MANY TEAMS CAN OFFER MORE.
That's it. That's all I got.... but I'm right.
I gotta agree with you. The earlier rumors had the Lakers giving up LO and Bynum to get KG and that was all rubbish. Now, it's the basically the same scenario. Kobe ain't going anywhere, and KG's not going to the Lakers. Might as well accept it and get ready for a year of b*tchin and moanin from Kobe.
