Default If T-Mac had stayed in Toronto with Vince, would they have won a championship?

I don't think T-Mac would have to worry about getting out of the first round.

That would have been a terrific combo.

T-Mac should have stayed.

Wouldn't be a championship team, though.

They would have been good, damn good, but eventually Oakley would have still been traded or retired, and with that the tean would have fallen apart. (this is not a joke, Oakley was the heart and soul of those Raptors teams)

With the right team around them they could have won a couple of titles. Its all about what you put around them.

I dont think Tmac would have developed into the player he is if he stayed, but he still would have been good....therefore i think it would be like a Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis combo where they are a dynamic scoring duo and jus win some games, but not do enough damage in the playoffs...but when you add CB4 into the situation then thats a whole different story

Co-sign the reason why T-mac became what he is now is because he became the #1 option on his team. Good comparison with Ray and Lewis. They wouldn't have a bad enough record to get Bosh if those two stayed on the team.

The team would be good but not championship level unless there were good role players and other additions to the team.

They would have been in the east so they would have a much better chance.

T-Mac didn't start to play like a star till he left Toronto...he wouldn't have hit is stride in Toronto....Imagine if Billups stayed also...and Camby.....its all about if's...

i dont like playing the if game because there are a million if's for each team it's jus pointless...

What if Portland, Boston, Memphis, Toronto (practically every team in the league) took Arenas in the First round???

What if they hadn't taken out the high school rule (CB4 & Oden)

What if Billups, Carter, Tmac, Bosh and Camby were a lineup

What if Boston drafted Duncan

jus too many....

McGrady, right now, is in a way better situaton than to where he was heading in Toronto. A task where he can either take a shot or pass it to a trust-worthy big man in Yao.

IMO, he would have a better shot winning a championship with the Rockets' current roster.

with some experience and a legendary coach like the Zen Master, VC and TMac could be like another MJ and Pip. but they don't win 6 rings. especially when u got the Spurs, Pistons, Mavs, and Suns.

i think they would have made it out of the east a few times. not sure how they'd do against la or san antonio though.

Lets bwe real about it - and because I dont want ot deal with the reality of the lineup - we'll pretend that T-Mac stayed for the bare bare minimum.

The best chance Tor EVER had was in 2001, the year that T-Mac left. They lost Game 7 to Philly (the UNC game).

Without T-Mac, they went with Anthony Carter, VC, Mo Pete, Oak & A.Davis. They had Del Curry, Corliss, Keon, Jerome williams and Chris Childs off the bench. It was already a pretty nasty team. The had M.Jackson on the roster, but he was hurt.

Add, T-mac, move Mo Pete to the Bench. They beat Philly. No Question.

Now, they have to beat a great Mil team - Cassel, Allen, Robinson, Mason, Johnson - with Tim Thomas and Redd on the bench.

I don't know how that Philly team beat them and I don't know if its so easy to say Tor would have beaten them. They took Philly to 7. Tor matches up fairly well, but the Mil bench is better -even moving Mo Pete to the bench.

Assuming they can beat the Mil team, now they've got the defenidng champ LAL - in that team's best year. Davis and Oak are nasty inside, but they are not that nasty. Too much Shaq.

---------

They'd be better the following year v. NJN, but they'd lose ot that Laker team again.

The following year - where they'd get to beat NJ to face SA - well you've got a shot, but how old is the entire bench at that point...and though you can replace all the Del Currys and chris Childs, you need a full strength oak and Davis v. SA - and you don't have that.

So the answer is no.

I don't think T-mac and Vince could cut it but I am pretty sure T-Mac and Hill together would have made a serious championship contender for years.

Here's a game that's more fun - what if the K, rather than trading Casmby and the pick for Mcdyss and Frank Williams - kept the pick, used it on Stoudemire and kept Camby.
