I have a MacBook and in my case, yes, it was worth the extra money. It depends on what you'll be doing with it, I needed mine for editing software that only works on Macs.
Well I won't get it for a couple years. Right before I go to school so I get the most for my money. But you know doing all the basic stuff. Can you use any program that you can use on windows, like dvdshrink. Or do you have to find one reworked for macs?
I have a mac and I love it. It can seem hard to use at first if youve never used one, but you learn quickly.
You can run Windows on a Mac too. You'll need to install boot camp. When you boot up, you can tell it what to boot. For example I play games and watch online TV on windows, but everything else on mac.

yeah man, i have a powerbook G-4, and i had to get that PC installer, so i could download pokerstars.net
since you are 18 and I assume you are going to college:
buy a PC if all you want is to do some homework, download massive porn, and play video games.
buy a mac only if you seriously want to use it for its artistic potential
no I'm 16. Like I said in a couple years I'm gonna buy a laptop. I might get a cheaper one right now for cyber school because the one they gave me to use is really nice. like 80g hd 1 gig ram, plenty fast for cyber school but it has this program net nanny on it and it annoys the crap out of me. It slows the internet down, its always crashing the pc and it slows my productivity.
Lol what you think because I'm 16, I don't know how to get everything I can out of my pc. I need that much ram, because I convert a lot of videos, and run a mess of memory sucking programs at the same time. But I won't get a mac simply because of the price, you can get a windows based pc same hardware for half the price.
once you go mac youll never go back. I own a macs and a pc. the pc is never used. I think i used it once to get something onto an ftp. But other than that its not needed because the macs do everything faster, smoother, and just overall better than the pc.
