IIRC there were some hidden areas you could only get to with the feather too.

I just remember times where i was in like 4th place on the last lap and hitting the last question mark hoping for something great but then you get a useless ass feather and jumping in place is the last move you make in the race. Aggggrevating lol

For N64 it was always great to knock a friend or two down into the gutter in Wario Stadium right before the big jump. Using a lightning bolt or a shell.

Also Rainbow road was sick if you could get enough speed and time your jump right you could cut off a good 1/3 of the race and destroy all.

Sick game.

ya, i did that a couple of times. It was pretty much do or die. If you missed, you lost the race and if you made it it was pretty much in the bag for you.

Toad lacks breakaway speed and torque on the power turns. He handles well, but a well heeled player using one of the big boys like Bowser would win everytime.

Donkey Kong Junior wasn't in Mario Kart 64.

The bad thing about using a player like Bowser is that his acceleration or lack thereof overpowers his speed. For time trials, he may be the best choice for an expert. But in Grand Prix, even the best player is bound to slip. You can't dodge being hit with lightning or a red shell no matter how good you are.

toad kicked some a$$

I'm a big N64 fan as well. Nothing could really top that.

the nintendo DS made a version that isn't too bad but it cant top the n64.

How about another great game.. Zelda, ocarina of time. That was my addiction.
