Default Shane Battier trade completed

They announced that the trade,Shane Battier for Rudy Gay/ Stromile Swift, has been completed and the Rockets did not get anyone else in the trade, and no money either, not even a draft pick.

Default The Did The Right Thing

When I first saw this trade I was disappointed. But, after thinking about it, they did the right thing. Shane Battier plays off the bench, but he does not have to. He was originally a #5 draft pick and ended up being a solid pick. He was the only guy considered untradable on that Memphis roster, and for good reason. The rockets did not need another SF. What they needed was a guy that could consistantly play defense, shoot 3s, and play PF. Shane Battier is the perfect acquisition. With T-macs back causing him to age faster than we want, and Yao Ming in his prime, we need players that can help us win now. Rudy Gay had a lot of developing to do and we did not have time to wait. We still need a lot of help and I hope the Rockets make a few more trades and acquisitions before the season begins. However, we have a solid group to build around and to make a run with. Our biggest need was PF and thats what we gained. Now, with help at PG and an increase in size and 3 point shooting ability at SG along with a younger C/PF backup for Yao, we could make a championship run.

Haha, sounds like you're almost there, only about 6 more needs to fill.

I like Shane Battier as a SF then a PF that way we'll have more height, but he's a good player. He also got invited to tryout for the USA senior mens team.
