For posters who are going to college in about a month's time:
for the first week before classes start, go around dorms and MEET PEOPLE. meet chicks. meet guys to play basketball/football with (or ultimate frisbee since all colleges play that)
then at night, go to the frat parties, meet different frats, drink a crap load of beer, and if you get lucky, get hooked up with easy freshman asss later back in the dorm.
remember the first week before classes is ALL about having a VERY FUN TIME with no parents anywhere.
DRINK YOUR ASS OFF. and if you know how to, get as much freshly legal ass as you can.
just my two cents.
once classes start, slow down and enjoy all the food your school's cafeteria will offer

All things I missed out on being a non-traditional student who commuted 30 minutes to/from school.
BTW, not a big fan of frats. Most guys in frats are just a bunch of tools. Sure, there are some decent ones, but those are hard to find.
Re: For posters who are going to college in about a month's time:
Speaking of cafeteria food, guess whose got the second best cafeteria in the COUNTRY.
There girls here are bananas also. But I get the impression that holds true for pretty much 95% of colleges.
I wasn't really looking forward to college because I wanted to go to UVA bad. But then I went to Orientation and stayed up all damn night and had a blast and am ready for 4 more years of that.

Good idea...Ill take it from someone with experience.
MY fish camp session is pretty late in the month, 15th-18th of august and i am still not sure if i want to go or not anymore but i figure it is nice to meet new people. etc.
Re: For posters who are going to college in about a month's time:
i graduated from high school last year and i am yet to decide whether or not i'm going to college. i got pretty good grades but i just ****ing hate school. so far it has been a huge load of useless crap and i cant see it being anything but that. i learn more important stuff on my own than i do in school.

I'm commuting this year. But I'm going to try to transfer to VT next year and join GeeWiz and a whole lot of other people that went there from my school. Going to George Mason this year by the way.

It's only hot enough for women to wear barely nothing for the first two months and just before exams start at the end of the year. Sucks....but I'll take hot women in Eskimo suits any day.
First year was all about getting ***** at dorms and ****. Hanging out in bigger groups. Then it was more about the bar/club scene as far as getting *****.
Sucks for your Amerikans who aren't legal till you're 21 (although that should never stop you).
