I disagree. Melvin Ely and both Elson and Butler are guys I'd prefer over Cato or Wright when you factor in age and price. Two of those guys are restricted (I believe), but still.

Yeah, up 2-0 against the Heat and then bam. Reality hit.

You get the refs help in one series you don't get it in another.

I'd rather lose four in a row in the finals after being up 2-0 than getting pumped and jumping for joy after signing a player the Knicks didn't even want to keep. The Knicks.

Yeah, because Buckner is a huge sign.

All the Spurs need is a decent center with size and strengh who can rebound and defend the paint and they're still title contenders.

You know because of Manu, Tony and some guy named Tim Duncan.

I'm saying it right now, both Elson and Butler are quality players. They'll look good in San Antonio.

Of course you would. That's the losers mentality. You wouldn't be you without it.

The Spurs could win the title with Oberto starting at Center.

And Butler/Elson > Oberto.

Agreed. LAL would have been better off overpaying for Butler than giving Radmanovic such a large contract. In two years I think he'll be significantly better than Nazr if he's given playing time.

I think that the Knicks will match though. Jackie at about half the MLE is a bargains when you look at the money some of the guys are making on our roster.

Spurs are taking the financially responsible route. Taking risks on shorter contracts, not heavily overpaying marginal players. They've wanted to get rid of Rasho's huge contract for awhile, and Nazr was expected to go, like he did... I think a frontcourt of Duncan, Butler, Elson, Horry, Bonner, Oberto would suffice.

Default Matching Jackie's Sheet

Quote:
I haven't read anything either way about the offer sheet being matched by NY.

Where are you guys getting this stuff?

Rule 39 section 14 bylaw 7 of the CBA reads as follows...

"If any habitually overweight player is offered a contract of any size by any team other than the Knicks, the Knicks must match or outbid that team."

Sorry, man.. dems da rules.

btw... Elson, Butler, or Lo Wright would be good pickups...

Might even consider giving Wright the MLE for about 3 years.

Default One Roster spot left for Knicks

Another thing to consider...

Unless the Knicks waive somebody, they only have one roster spot left to give out to...

A) Butler
B) Qyntel Woods
C) some bum off the street that Isiah wants to give a second chance at basketball (Rodman, JR Rider, Tarpley, Stanley Roberts) He seems to do it every year.

I think they will let Butler go and sign Woods to the minimum. Guys like Frye, Lee, Curry, and Jenny James, (not to mention Malik and Mo) will get plenty of the big man minutes.

Default Yes, it's E

Yeah, Ced.. it's E.

...and it was Magnum PI... I'm learning the Fletch theme right now (not "Bit by Bit"... the other one by the Beverly Hills Cop guy...uh... his name... was... Faltermeyer)

Please come check out my myspace page at www.myspace.com/thestarsofsydney

Bucks should trade Magloire and Gadz to the Spurs for..

BBarry
MBonner
Fabio Bear Toe
Udrih
Whatever future picks or foreign player rights necessary

there's yer deal

C - Magz/Gadz
PF - Duncan/Horry
SF - Bowen/EWill
SG - Ginobili/ Finley
PG - Parker/Vaughn

Bucks...

C - Bogut/BearToe
PF - Villanueva/JSmith/Boner
SF - Simmons/Ilyasova/Noel
SG - Redd/Barry
PG - MoWill/Bell/Udrih

This is if the Bucks can't do Magloire for Harrington s+t style with ATL.

If I were a team with capspace that didn't need an SF/PF... I'd STILL sign Al Harrington. Kid is the BOMB.
