First off, i'm not a Houston fan, i'm a Raptor fan.
Ok, IMO they have been overrated by many for a couple of years now. But with a more mature Yao, the addition of James, Butler, Scola and Franchise, they may reach the level that they have been overrated too.
I don't like Franchise, but he is no worse than any of the guys he figures to take playing time from. Same goes for James.
Scola is an upgrade from Howard and Butler is a nice addition backing up both PF and center.
I think Scola and Battier are going to be the keys that make this team tick.
PG - Francis/James/Alston
SG - TMac/Head/Snyder
SF - Battier/Wells/Reed
PF - Scola/Novak/Butler
C - Yao/Butler
Could be one of the deeper teams in the league next year.
If they can move Alston and another young backup for another decent front court player they would be in great shape.
Maybe something like Alston, Novak and a 2nd rounder for a sign and trade with Cleavland for Varejao.
All in all, as I said before, I think Houston is NOW as good as there hype has been for the last couple of years. One of the best off seasons in the NBA.
