Default Bogans to Orlando

According to NBA.com, Orlando signed restricted free agent Keith Bogans this morning.

Since he's restricted, we could match the offer. Havn't seen what the offer is yet, so I don't know if it's a good idea to do so.

OR...we could do a sign and trade, maybe get Trevor Ariza or Deshawn Stevenson. Saw a couple of rumors that we were interested in Ariza. He could be a decent backup 3, and he's young enough to grow with the team and be around for a while.

edit...just listened to the audio file attached...we didn't extend a qualifying offer to him, so he became an un-restricted FA. Nothing we can do about...but still may be able to get one of the afore mentioned players, although I think Deshawn will prolly want to much.

Stevenson wants about $4 million a year for 4 years. I don't think that is too much for him, but it's most of the MLE.

I say we throw our MLE or most of it at Fred Jones and then go after Rasual Butler (Trevor Ariza if we can't get Butler).

Otis Smith (Orlando GM) said they can match any offer for Ariza, and he seemed inclined to match most reasonable ones, but you never know.

We will have T-mac, Head and Battier to play the 2/3 spots, and possibly Sura... if everyone stays healthy, that would be enough, but it would be nice to have a little more size to be able to through out there.

Any one seen enough of Novac to know if he can provide minutes at the 4? We played Juwan at the 5 some, so he could slide over there in a pinch. Counting Novac, we have 12 players under contract...so we can still sign some one to the MLE, the LLE, and then leave a roster spot open for injries, roster moves, etc.

Seems like a good move to throw the whole MLE at Fed Jones like Fatty said, ge a decent vet big for the LLE.

And don't forget, we still have Macje Lampe! He could be our savior down low w/ Yao!

Do we, though?

A couple of us were wondering the other day if he is really under contract because he is playing summer league ball for the Suns. Why would he be doing that when we have our own summer league squad?

Ironically, Bogans was dropped for Stevenson a few years ago. Anyways, I'd like the Rockets to focus all of their MLE on a bruising PF. Reggie Evans is a good rebounder, but doesn't offer much else. I'd like a haslem type player.

Default We need bogans

We need Bogans. He is a defensive stopper that can shoot a decent jumper. We have no defensive players on our roster except for maybe Battier and Motumbo (who plays like 5 mins a game), and neither of them are guards. Houston should match orlandos offer (if they are smart). Losing a guy like Bogans would be a big loss for the Rockets.

I think the Rockets should go after Deshawn Stevenson that guy has mad hops and i think the rockets should have one more guy that can play the 2-3 incase someone gets injured.

Deshawn Stevenson sucks butt. He is awful. The only reason he started at SG was because the Magic didn't really have a good SG. Grant Hill and Hedo were SFs (which would explain Hedo coming off the bench). I would cry if we signed him. I would rather sign bugs bunny that him. Atleast bugs bunny would energize the team when theyre in a slump. This guy would just piss off the public. :stupid:

You guys probably need Larry Hughes since he is sort of out of favor in Clev.
