Default I just sprained my ankle

I wasn't even gonna run today cause I was feelin fluish, but I figured, quick run to sweat the germs out. Ran a couple of half courts then crack! Sounded like when you crack your spine. It's about a couple hours later, but I can walk on it now, still pretty swollen.
I got a tourney next, 3-on-3, you think I can heal in time? Any suggestions to how to heal quicker? I got some glucosamine at work, but that's more for joints.

I've sprained my ankles many a times. Try:

Elevation and ice.

After a couple days spell the alphabet with your toes to build your ankle back up.

Balance and do one legged squats on the hurt ankle.

Use thera-bands if you have them.

Think I could be at 90% next Thursday?

Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

and do the alphabets once you can. if you can walk on it now you should be able to play in 2-4 days, just probably not as quick/fast as you normally are. get an ankle brace or tape it up before your game just to be on the safe side, since you're most likely going to sprain it again later on in life.

Probably not, but it depends on the severity of the sprain.

Sucks. I severely sprained my ankle in HS during practice running 6 in 30s (3 sprints up the floor in back - 6 court lengths - in 30 seconds) I used to consistently get it, but lost some strength/conditioning and eventually confidence. Took about a month and a half of nearly everyday workouts with coaches to get back 100% and to be able to run the floor like before. Sucks, especially when you play point. So I know your feeling...best of luck and here's to a speedy recovery.

Damn, hope you get better soon man. I've never really sprained an ankle that bad or even close to that badly before. But usually I just try to stay off of it, wrap it, put some cold stuff on it, and then it feels better in a couple days.

Man, looks like you got owned.

Happened to me a couple of times in soccer but in a couple of days I am good and play through the pain but i am never 100%. I eventually get there though.

I just ice it and move it around.

Ice it and stay off of it.

I sprained mine like that last November and I remember I was going about 60% at practice in 2 days. And around 80% in a week. That was while wearing an ankle brace/wrap thing.

I doubt pills do anygood but they are geared more for long term stuff, no?

Hope you heal up fine.

Spraind my left foot a couple of months ago, didn't get it treated properly. I simply played on (I was practicing basketball on my own) for a whole hour before I got it looked at, and even now, when I do warmup exercises, I would swear there's a phantom pain in my left foot..........
