He's been saying things similar to that since 2001. Iverson has stayed pretty loyal to the Sixers. Loyalty is actually one trait Iverson had before he came into the NBA.

Iverson has really improved his rep through the league.

When he first came io the league, the "White corporate media" Always seemed to label him as a selfish "Gangster" who only cares about "wearing du rags". I'm glad people actually started to respect him as a person and as well as a player, because he is far from a "Locker room gangsta"

No, those comments were carefully designed to raise his street cred.. duh
It makes him a bad enough dude to stand up to authority (coach), but not the Portland Trailblazer bad.

Default ai as symbol

the reason ai is MANY people's favorite, including my self, is that he is symbolic of the street and he is the way he is and doesnt conform to the way david stern wants him to be

he represents a hip hop street attitude that says:
"this is who i am, i do what i do and if you dont like it you can #$%@ off. you cant change me so accept me as i am, respect me, but dont try to make me something i am not because you cant do it"

the impression is that ai does not sell out

he is the anti-jordan, the anti-kobe

Yeah hire a guy for street cred. Gotta love posters who type nonsense in spite of the poster who created the topic. Its amusing, the shock post. Hey watch me say something stupid to get a reply/reaction. Look it worked. I keeps it going I keeps it going, yea!
