Question How many wins this year???

Okay boys and girls, this is the part where we give shout to find out how many wins we expect from the Jazz in '07....

Now considering that I've no Idea what the schedule looks like, I think I'll go with................52.

Funny thing is, that's only an eleven game improvement from last season...
There's real potential for the Jazz to wreak havoc on the Western conference this coming season(fingers crossed).

So, What do you all think???

I think anywhere from 45-54 we will make the playoffs this year.

At least in the mid to late 50's.
I'll go with 56. Just got to get those Home wins.

50 to 55, I'd say, depending on how everything works out with the rookies and sophomores and how good health holds up. Playoffs!

I'll go with 51. I think it might be a bit rough at the beginning of the season to get everything to gel.

Fo shizzle, dude. I think anything less than the playoffs would be a disappointment.

As for my guess.... 50 wins is a tough number to reach, but the Jazz can do it. Here's how I predict the top 8 (the playoff teams) in the west will finish...

Dallas (They kept all their core pieces and should finish with most wins.)
Phoenix (Amare will be healthy & Piatowski gives them even MORE 3's.)
San Antonio (They drop a step with age, but beat you with smarts anyway.)
LA Clippers (Adding Tim Thomas and keeping core players makes 'em better.)
JAZZ!! (D-Will breaks out and health reigns all season long!)
Memphis (Rudy Gay needs to play right away.)
Denver (Could go higher if they land a decent 2 guard.)
New Orleans/Oklahoma (Peja will shoot them into the playoffs.)

Miss the cuts...
Sacramento (I predict they lose Bonzi and sink a bit.)
LA Lakers (hahahaha)
Golden State (have some nice young talent, but a few years away.)
Houston (Another year of injuries. another year of disappointment.)
Minnesota (Foye could get ROY but they still don't have enough firepower.)
Seattle (Are they going ANYWHERE?)
Portland (Just changed the face of their team. Need time for chemistry.)

It does sound tough, but it's only a 9 game improvement on last year...

Funny thing is they still got the two guys they want to ditch... So really all they've done is change limbs/parts. The face/head is still pretty ugly...

If I remember correctly we lost 8 or 9 games last year by 5pts or less.
I'm expecting better execution in the clutch due to Deron being a year on and the valuable presence/experience of Derek Fisher.
So yeah, 50 wins doesn't sound out of the question!

Damn, when I fist saw 50+ wins I thought that was way too high but then you think about it and yeah, it is only 9 more wins. I agree, I think they can get to 50 and playoffs for sure but not much once they're there. Baby steps.

47-51 the talent is there for sure, but you have to take into consideration the learning curve. If the young talented guys (the guys who can take this team to a new level) don't immediately appease Sloan then they will sit and have the plodders such as Collins take their minutes, which in turn will lead to another season of mediocrity. Mediocre players on the floor=mediocre results. I'm sure at some point one of the younger guys, Miles, Brewer, Millsap, even possibly AK and D-Will could end up in the Doghouse and Jerry plays record suicide out stubborn pride.

Here's to hoping that doesn't happen! Maybe for once we could see an athletic and talented Jazz squad!

I don't think it will... There's an article in the '06-07 Starters' thread where Sloan actually mentions that they want Brewer on the court learning, in real game situations as much as possible. I had to read it a few times to believe that it was actually Jerry Sloan being quoted. I hope he sticks to that statement...

Oh yeah... Welcome to the Forums Goldenboy!
