TRADE DENIED.

The Knicks aren't exactly penny pinchers. Knowing them they would excersize the option on Fatoine and thus be stuck with him for 4 years, as opposed to Q's 3.

Q-Rich has three years left.
Ok let's discard team and player options, Q-Rich got this year and the next also... idiot, and guess what, his contract is smaller.

I would think the Knicks would want Q. They need him to stay healthy so he can help spread the floor.

Howeva, they could use the cap next year that getting rid of Toine would provide. And the Heat could use that consistent 3rd option who's relatively young. Although there are injury concerns.

Given the Knicks' players' contracts and player options, barring a miracle, the Knicks will not be under the cap until until summer of 2010, or the summer after Q's contract would be up. The Randolph trade essentially assured this.

That's not the point. Zeke has expressed the will to lower their capspace and that would help.

Maybe they'd want to also trade the Walker expirer or maybe that extra money next year would make it easier for them to want to use their MLE.

What Zeke says, and what he does are contradictory. Again the Randolph move was the opposite of what he has been claiming for some time. If the Walker move is to lower payroll, then my question is why? They will not be under the cap enough to sign free agents, and they've already shown they have no regard for the luxury tax. Q Rich will simply be a better player for the Knicks who can get them more wins. And, he too will have an expiring contract, simply one year later.

Maybe it would just be a business move. The Knicks owners may not mind spending money, but they may not like spending 9mil on a player that has only played half the season every since he got there. It'd save money for 2 years, that includes on the tax. If Q was staying healthy it would be a different story.

u dont know what ure talkin about. the knicks wouldnt do this. Q is a far better player than toine and if it wasnt for injuries his contract wouldnt be bad at all. the guy does everything pretty well. he can shoot, post, rebound and play D and is a good leader. toine contract is only a year shorter and hes far less productive
