The greatest sports team ever assembled? Few if anyone would argue. The 1992 Dream Team won by an average of 43.8 points, an Olympic record and the closest a team came to challenging the U.S. was Croatia who came within 32. It was Charles Barkley and not Michael Jordan who led the Dream Team in scoring (18), field goal (.711) and three-point shooting (.875) percentages. Here is a numerical look at this majestic team.
0 – Number of timeouts called by head coach Chuck Daly during the eight games the Dream Team participated in in the 1992 Olympics

2.8 – John Stockton’s scoring average, 12th overall

15 – Number of total blocks by Patrick Ewing, which led the Dream Team

.365 – Opponents field goal percentage

37 – Number of total steals by Michael Jordan, which led the Dream Team

47 – Number of total assists by Scottie Pippen, which led the Dream Team

4.8 – Christian Laettner’s scoring average, 10th overall on the Dream Team

18 – Charles Barkley’s scoring average, which led the Dream Team

32 – the closest, in points, an opponent came to the Dream Team in eight games during the Olympics (117-85 vs. Croatia in the gold medal game)

43.8 – average margin of victory, in points, in the Olympics
