Clippers Considering Josh Powell: Signs 3 Year Deal
According to Clipperblog.com, the L.A. Clippers are looking at 3rd year forward Josh Powell. Powell's an amazing rebounder and has Thornton-like athleticism. He's played his last two seasons in Dallas and Golden State, putting up some decent numbers from the bench.
Many may not, but I think Powell is a good thought. A young guy to mold in case Brand doesn't come back right away, who doesn't need the ball to make a difference on the court. He's a better fit for the Clippers than James Singleton, I think, and depending on how much we use, we could still have some MLE ledft to add a shooter. I think it would be a good signing. Thoughts?

Hear, Hear and I hope this is the same Powell that put up great numbers in the SL.
Hopefully this is a 1-3 year deal because if EB is to opt out and go elsewhere due to us signing someone else or osmething along these lines, Powell can be a solid contribitor, pending he developes, but if we do extend EB and bring over Sofo, a 1 year deal would be the best as we wont need him much
Powell is an amazing athlete and rebounder but a very very very raw scorer. He literally has no post moves and just relies on his hops to get everything done. He will be a huge sparkplug off the bench but we need a more consistent low post threat as our starting PF.
This season really hinges on Kaman, Maggette, and TT's shoulders. You know Mobley will get his 12-16 ppg, and Cassell will be consistent but we need a daily effort from the other guys.

If there was any time when Maggette should take over, it is now. I think if given the opportunity he could shine with great basketball splendor.
Also, seeing as how Kaman underacheived last year.. this season he should make a strong effort in the middle, particularly if Brand misses playing time.
Since everyones bringing back old guys from the 90s why dont we take a shot on Shawn Kemp? If hes in playing shape we should give him a look. He would be way more of a low post threat than Josh Powell and could give us 5-10 MPG if anything.
We need to do our best to tank the season so we can bring
OJ Mayo and Agent Zero in 2008. Nobody will suspect the
Clippers finishing 20-62 and winning the draft lotto.
Memo to Elton and Shaun: Take your time rehabbing.
Don't rush yourselves. Be ready in 2008 for contention.
Memo to Donald T Sterling: Be ready to bring in Gilbert
Arenas in 2008. Show the fans that LA can again have
a parade down Figueroa St.

Good to see Donald T planning for cap space in 2008 when
Agent Zero will leave the Wiz and most likely return to his hometown
in a red, white, and blue uni.
