gm - jerry west
coach - pat riley
superstar - lebron james
secondary star - ray allen, joe johnson, chauncey billups, or kirk hirich, whichever level of sidekick is the threadstarter considers okay for the topic.
can't take timmy cause of age. think it's easier to find a superb "secondary" shooter / handler to put with james than a superb but secondary big to put with kobe, otherwise i would have taken bryant and maybe boozer (think he's too much of an all-star these days) and looked like a serious lakers fan. which makes me feel a little dirty.
In today's NBA I'd take Lebron James. He's got the youth and is destined to be the best player in the league and I'd have Jerry West surround him with the right people. George Karl would be my coach. Always good at maximizing what players he has. As a perfect sidekick for Bron he needs a shooter/passer type player. Micheal Redd or Joe Johnson maybe?
star-Wade(young, has expierince, 27,5,6,2 steals and a block)
sidekick-Dwight Howard(I think Wade needs a big man. Dwight is young and has a bright future. Beast rebounder, almost unstoppable when he gets low in the paint)
I believe that Popovich will be able to whip Howard's shot into shape, he's that sort of guy who would want precise measurements of every single player on his team, and Kobe would probably want a rock-steady foundation to work with, starting with a demanding coach and then integrating a rising star in the game.
