That's total BS. You think it's just coincidence that Kobe signed with the Lakers the day AFTER Shaq was traded? There is no way he was going to stay with them if Shaq was resigned...it's ridiculous for someone to actually believe that... shoot, Phil Jackson would even tell you that you're wrong

Melo knows his damn role....so does everyone else on that team. LeBronze better START to know his role or else there's gonna be some serious issues (ie his ass being benched).

Carmelo's career high shot attempts in one game is only 31 attempts. OH! and it was a triple overtime game vs Phoenix. OH! and he hit the game winner.

To put that into perspective...

Wades and Lebrons career high - 36 attempts.

Jason "the assist master" Kidd - 36 attempts.

Plus, Melo has been just short of a 50% field goal percentage for the past two years.

Chucker? Puh-leeeeeease.

Kobe fanatics are just trying to rewrite the past to suit their own/Kobe's needs. Now that Kobe is having "issues" with Laker management, these Kobe fans are trying to show that their idol didn't have any type of real conflict with Shaq and would have stayed even if Shaq was re-signed with The Lakers back in 2004. It's pathetic to see how low some Kobe fans can go to make it seem Kobe has done no wrong.

He isn't a chucker for the nugz, but he can get pretty crazy on team usa. Not that thats a bad thing. Someone needs to put the ball in the hoop.....

Melo is pretty underrated. Next year he's going to be on all "teh top 5 lists".

His apg are going to go up and his scoring should only go down slightly. Expect his FG% to go even higher.

Right now I have lebron wade and melo are all very close. I give the edge to LeBron because I'm a cavs fan but any of the 3 are a good choice.

the original dreamteam recognized this and that is why they checked in their egos at the door and looked at what would make them a better team.

it was sacrificing their individual stats for the good of the team

and johndough makes the point too: team play is what the usa needs

this is why we have not done well in international competitions since the 2002 olympics. the usa has gone in the opposite direction and too many individuals havent made the sacrifice for the good of the team

it has been enough of a distraction-- coupled with the improvement of the rest of the world in their understanding of hoops as a TEAM sport-- to help us lose to inferior talent

five always beats one

Kobe was a retard. Sure, it was 30 million less, but still 105 is a sh!t load of money. The Clippers had a talented team. If Kobe picked the Clippers, they would've won at least one championship by now. but instead, Kobe decided to stick with the hapless Lakers and gained jack sh!t nothing out of it. Now he wants out. Smart dicision on Kobe's part. But oh well. Arguing with you goes nowhere fast. You're probably gunna come back with some Clipper joke

I think we've all already established that fact already. The team will go as far as Kobe will take them.

Kobe is the best player on the team.

This is team USA. These are bunch of all-stars. You guys are acting like Kobe's playing with... the Lakers squad. Yes. Kobe is the best one on the team, but this needs to be a collective effort. It would help the team more if Kobe leaves his ego at the door. We all know how well a kobe led team does.

This is a myth. There always needs to essentially be a head to a snake. A leader on the floor who others draw strength from and look to in crucial moments. To put it bluntly, out of all these stars on this team, Kobe Bryant is the only player they could rely on in seemingly any situation. So he'd definetely have to be that guy. That doesn't mean however he has to rule over people with an iron fist and stuff like that. And it doesn't mean they couldn't mesh as a unit. However, there has to be a key clog in any army who people look to for leadership and strength. Kobe Bryant is that guy.

I can't believe Wade has a 36 shot attempt game. I always find him kind of conservative when it comes to putting up shots. I'm still shocked he hasn't broke the 50 point barrier, all while I consider him ot be one of the greatest scorers in today's game.

I know you got this off Lakersground, so as an experiment, I took this random quote by "Pat Riley" and searched plugged it in on google. Strangely enough, the only result that returns is from Lakersground forums.

Not even saying he didn't say it, but I'm presuming words were altered for agendas to be filled.
