CARSON, Calif. (Monday, August 20, 2007) - The LA Galaxy will look to clinch their third Honda SuperClasico in as many years on Thursday when they host in-stadium rivals Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University - Dominguez Hills. The Galaxy have earned a win and a draw in the first two installments of the SuperClasico this season and a win will ensure that the trophy stays with the Galaxy. David Beckham and Landon Donovan will be flying back from Europe to be available for this game as LA looks to kick start their postseason push with a win in the SuperClasico.
Starting Formation I want to see for the Galaxians:
Have Martino play the Beckham role until Becks is subbed in at about the 60th minute for Harmse. Would have started, but a very unclassy move by the EMNT. Donovan should come in at about the 50th minute for Jones. Another possiblity for a subsitution could be Glinton for Buddle, or Kelly Gray for Vagenas. I'm hoping it's Gray, leaving the formation to be
By the way, Beckham and Donovan are both expected to play, and both played in Europe yesterday. Donovan played 60 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Sweden for team USA, while Becks played all 90+ minutes for England as they lost 2-1 to Germany. Becks has a troubled ankle, so all this flying is not going to benefit him at all.
