I'd say the Rockets got the best out of those deals since they ended up with the player they traded AND the player they traded FOR. Basically they traded away Cuttino and Cato and got TMac

5 superstars got traded in the last 3 years. What's your take on that?
And which team got the best package?
Lakers traded Shaq for Odom, Butler, Grant and a first round pick. Shaq was 32 years old.
Orlando trade T Mac for Francis, Mobley and Cato. T Mac was 25 years old.
Toronto traded VC for Zo, Aaron Williams, Eric Williams and 2 first round picks. Vince was 27 years old.
Philla traded AI for Andre Miller, Joe Smith and 2 first round picks. AI was 31 years old.
Minnesota traded KG for Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes, Telfair and two first round picks.
Thoughts on superstars getting traded?
I think Minnesota got the best package for KG....by far.
You're talking about an already 16/11 player in Al Jeffferson who is 20ish years old, Gerald Green, a very talented swingman, an expirer in Ratliff, a decent player in Gomes and two picks.
When you compare it to other deals, McHale is a genius.
Lakers got 2 solid players in Butler and Odom but they traded Butler away because of the 2007 plan. Too bad.
If they had both players now under Jackson, who knows how good they'd be.
Still, taking on Grant's contract was a terrible decision.
That pick turned out to be Jordan Farmar who's solid..
Not a good trade but hey..
Now when you look at it, 3 swingmen, AI, T Mac and VC got traded for trash. No other way to describe it.
It wasn't like T-Mac, Juwan Howard, Reece Gaines and Tyronn Lue for Steve Francis, Mobley and Cato ?

For some reason I don't remember Mark Price doing much of anything after getting traded out of CLE.
yeah, he was finished. knee surgery had taken his quickness, and he was undersized. he could still do a decent steve kerr impression, but as an all-star pg he had nothing left. he had already been replaced on his own team by terrell brandon.
