I created a three team trade scenario last week and posted it on the Bulls forum, since than I made an upgraded version that I think makes a lot of sense. The trade would include the Bulls, Pacers and Lakers. The three biggest moves would ship Kobe to Chicago, Ben Wallace to Indiana and J.O. to L.A. Each team would receive a pretty fair value for what they'd be giving up and it would probably improve each team.
What they get one of the most promising young big men in Bynum and a defensive master in Wallace.
wallace's contract is awful, and it just piles onto the unmovable contracts that murphy and dunleavy have. then you lose your best scorer and replace with no reliable point producer. unless bynam develops into a multi-year all-star, i think it's not great for the long term or the short term.
didn't catch that. still don't think indi gets enough back, but that helps some.
So what more would you want. They get two big men that should be capable of averaging at least 10 ppg and 6 rpg (Bynum and Brown). A solid tree point shooter who will probably average 7-8 ppg next year (Cook). A decent big man with size and range who averages 9.7 ppg in his six years (Radmanovic). A nice backup point gaurd on the rise (Duhon) and argueably one of the best defenders in the NBA of the last 10 years who's a veteran winner (Wallace).
The more I look at it, the more I like it. Sure, it's a totally fantasy trade (will never happen), but I think it makes each team better.
Chicago keeps Deng and Hinrich and gets Kobe. They get rebounding masters in Foster and Murphy. I'd give them the central with that lineup.
Los Angeles gets rid of their problem child, gets Thomas to work with O'Neal, and Gordan is a very nice compliment to O'Neal. Won't win the chip, but gives them versatility and a future that they clearly don't have right now.
Indiana is a sinking ship right now, so they get youth in Bynum that can learn from Wallace. They also get rid of some of their worst contracts, giving them the chance to start over that they really need. They'll be a lottery team, but they'll have an identity and a place to build from. Give them a good rookie figurehead and they could be on their way. Not sure how Indiana would welcome Wallace after the brawl, though. Any Indiana fans willing to comment on this? Are there any Indiana fans here, for that matter?

Thank you finally someone that understands the logic of this trade. All I was waiting for was a positive responce. Each of these teams would be moving into the right direction with this trade.

They really don't. You're just too enamored with your own handiwork to recognize it.
