Apparently Canada coach Leo Rautins is stirring things up a bit. He has a point. That's a lot of basketball compressed into a short period of time.

http://mediazonebasketball.wordpress...ism-has-merit/

Rautins was critical of the 12-man rosters, saying that’s too few players for teams in this tournament. The issue has come up because Andy Rautins, the coach’s son, suffered a serious knee injury, tearing his ACL and MCL. Canada must go the rest of the way with just 11 players.

Great win by Canada, our frontcourt looked very good with Jesse Young & Levon Kendall. Dalembert is okay, but is far too inconsistent to be relied upon.

My boy Young playing really well and showing some fire getting in Batista's face. Granted, those were some easy ass shots he was getting with the very poor fronting defence by Uruguay. Dalembert played poor, could have had a bunch more rebounds if he used both his damn hands.

Atlanta's C position looking pretty solid with Pachulia and Batista. Uruguay impressive, played with a lot of fire to overcome lack of talent.

I wish he'd get better post position, just doesn't have the quicks to play like that in the mid range. Hope he stops taking 3's...

Yeah that was horrible, I don't know why he thought that taking fade aways and 3s was a good idea.

Tomorrow night's game is huge. If Canada can beat Argentina, which isn't impossible they will set themselves up nicely. Puerto Rico has struggled and Mexico isn't exactly a powerhouse.

2-2 might be enough to get 4th (if we assume USA, Argentina and Brazil will advance as well), but I think that would mean playing USA in the semis.

So going 3-1 in this round would be great.

Are all the pools merged now? Or is it impossible for 3 group A teams to make it to the semis?

The pools are merged, and they are ranked 1-8 after this round.

They're merged, but teams only play teams from the other group from phase 1 (basically who they haven't played yet).
