More or less just a feeling I have, but Mark Cuban is a combustible guy. He turns his team into an emotional rollercoaster that certainly can create for a great stretch, but has also had some serious rough spots (NBA Finals, first round exit).

If Dallas peaked at the right time they'd be two-time champs right now, because I think their talent is capable of beating any team in the league.

Their most important matchups of the year are against the Utahs and the San Antonios that approach the game in a stoic, businesslike approach. I have yet to see that 'everyday grind' ability of Dallas because of their reliance on jumpshots and momentum.

I give them all the credit in the world if they can prove me wrong, because I think they have a few talented players. I hope for their sake they can prove that talent trumps controversy.

I said this in another thread, but I believe the top 6 teams in the west will only be seperated by 6-7 games. barring injuries, I forsee:

dallas/phoenix (50/50 on both)
spurs
rockets/jazz/denver(all a toss up)

That's regular season....

Tough call but I think it is either Dallas or Pheonix getting the 1
Spurs w the 3 and Rockets Jazz and denver all really close for 4-6. I think the talent gap has shrunk dramatically since last year. Remember Yao out for 32 games? Remember Carmelo's suspension? Remember AI not being on Denver for the whole season? Dallas won't win 67 games again, that's for sure (barring injuries of course).

BTW, People saying the rockets for #1 don't know basketball though they should be good, it takes time for chemistry (things the top 3 teams have)

You act like Iverson being on Denver for an entire season is a good thing for them.

Dallas will have the best record, and therefore #1 seed. 64 wins.

Carmello is the leader of that team. Hopefully, AI realizes it. I'm not a Denver fan but having all your guys from the beginning of the season will help. That was my point.

That team was much better when it had Andre Miller. what they need is a spot up shooter, not an underized high volume shooting cancer

Dallas
Phoenix
San Antonio
Utah
Houston
Denver

Same as last year. The only difference is that the Jazz will actually have homecourt against the Rockets.

And I don't understand Interminator's logic that AK47 will send the Jazz down the ladder. He couldn't possibly have a worse season than he did last year and we still won 51 games.

Don't understand why people think that AK is done/washed up but yet they get geeked over Houston signing Francis and Mike James.

#1. Phoenix - 64 wins
#2. Dallas - 62 wins
#3. Houston - 58 wins
#4. San Antonio - 56 wins

Also the 4 teams that make it to the second round after Spurs eliminate the Jazz in the 4v5 matchup.

Not only Francis and James but also Scola, the new coach.
Last year, the Rockets almost beat them with the old team.
