Default Official #66 NBA Player Of All Time According To ISH

#65 - Paul Arizin. “Pitchin” Paul Arizin is one of the greatest players ever from the beginning of the NBA. He was one of the pioneers of the jump shot and was one of the first great leapers of the league. After two great seasons he was drafted into the US Army. After coming out in the mid-1950’s, he helped the Warriors win title and won his second NBA scoring title in 1957 (his first in 1952.) He was a ten time All-Star and 4 time member (three 1st team selections) of the All-NBA teams.

This list is becoming extraordinarily scant now...

Still, I reserve my vote for later in case one more vote is needed to keep Vince Carter out.

Amazing. So many 18 ppg, 3 rpg, 3 apg players being voted ahead of Vince. I vote for Vince Carter again.

You realize thats a career average. You actually think Vince is gonna retire with his current 24/4/4 averages? VC will probally play a long career, meaning his averages will dip and by the time he hangs them up, it'll look more like 18/3/3.

Also, is the 24/4/4 supposed to make him better them Arizin and others? Sur you're probally gonna say, "If VC played back then, he'd be way better then Paul Arizin." Thats probally true, but we'll never know. Arizin had more All-Star games, more All-NBA teams, more NBA titles then Vince Carter.

Of course Vince is not a bad player, as he'll porobally make this list, but he's not beter then Paul Arizin or any of the other 18/3/3 players on this list.

SIDNEY MONCRIEF

The first time I had seen or even heard of Sidney Moncrief was around 2000. It was on NBA TV a they were running some little 5 minute spot on him. Around 2000, I considered my knowledge about the past NBA greats to be very good but he seem to have slipped through the cracks. Sid was before my time as I started watching ball in 94, three seasons after he retired.

As I started to look at information on him, he seemed like a bad cat and he was. Brother could do everything on the court. If you needed points, (drives or jumpers) he was the one to go to. If he need a defensive stop, he was the one you called on. He was a great All-Around players. In his 11 season career, he made the three major NBA teams 5 time each.

He made 5 NBA All-Star teams from 1982 to 1986. Also those same seasons he made 5 All-NBA teams. Four All-NBA 2nd teams and the almighty All-NBA first team once. His defensive accomplishments are the complete opposite. He made 1 All-Defensive 2nd team and 4 All-Defensive 1st teams.

His team success wasn’t bad either considering he played in the same era as some great teams like the Boston Celtics, the Phila Sixers and the Detroit Pistons. His Milwaukee Bucks made the Easter Conference Finals three times. They were the only squad to defeat the “Fo, Fo, Fo” Sixers in 1983.

He was also one of the greatest guard defenders of his era, maybe even the best, winning 2 DPOY in the 1980’s.

-5 NBA All-Star games
-1 All NBA 1st team and four 2nd teams (5 total)
-4 All Defensive 1st teams and one 2nd team (5 total)
-2 DPOY
-Career high points per game 22.5
-Career high rebounds per game 6.7
-Career high assist per game 5.2
-Career high FG% .54

Just to be clear, Paul Pierce has to be voted in far before Vince Carter. Thanks.

I'm researching before I vote this.

All right, let's do this thing.

I vote for LATRELL SPREWELL!

After playing NBA Jame TE last night, it only reaffirms my choice. Spree is a beast. 50 points! Blocking Karl Malone's dunks all day! 4 green stats and none in the red!

Besides, his off-court "achievements" have to be considered as well... :)

Vince's career averages are slightly over 24, 5 and 4 and he is still in his prime so there is no way he will end up anywhere near 18, 3 and 3. 18, 3 and 3 isn't that impressive.
