Now if LeBron was a colossal FIBA failure last year, isn't Kobe shadowing his performance this year?

Basically I'm making this thread to see how wrong and unjust people have been to LeBron. And the only way to truely illustrate this double-standard is to make threads like these that show what is good for another player, is downright hate for another.

Please only contribute quality responses to this thread.

its like judging performances in a all star game, none of this stuff really matters because they are playing horrible comp..blaze wrote a good post about it..

For Kobe, you should add to be fair that he has been out best defensive player and brought defensive intensity to our team..Which is good because that is the reason we lost to Greece

LeBron lead the team in assists and was 2nd in rebounding....but noone cared about that in that 200+ reply thread where 90% of you were laying heavy hate his way.

Why the double-standard now?

And as far as judging performances based on mediocre competition, do you really expect for Kobe's stats to get "better" as the competition gets tougher? Isn't that kind of backwards.

actually as the competition gets tougher and different the scores will be lower as European teams slow the games down..Meaning possessions mean more and are longer..this means more of a premium on defense and less fast break points so yes I think that when the competition rises, Kobe's defense presense and ability in the clutch will matter more then it does now.. Remember why we lost the games last time...DEFENSE

Plus against real comp... this lineup is gonna change...Either Lebron or Melo isnt starting because it wont work..The big men on Greece, Spain and Argentina(real one) will kill us on the boards and in the post if we stay this small...

It's a shame that some feel such an overwhelming need to belittle Kobe in order to prop another player. They just don't have much else to contribute to this forum.

imo, thus far Lebron is MVP of Team USA with all due respect to Kobe's obvious leadership and defensive intensity. Big props to both of them, but I'm giving Lebron the edge.
