Shooting Guard at 6'11? Is this fair? Well that's what Dirk plays too right? Durant is the black version of Dirk Nowitzki. But I have question marks about his 3pt shooting, what was his % in college ball?
yeah, hard to believe. WHile I do not put great stock in workout #s, even without his Benchpress #s he looks like a run of the mill nba athlete at best ("He wasnt trying, he didnt want to get hurt"). Clearly not on the level of memac or kobe. Kid'll be a very solid nba player, but not becuase hes some freakish physical specimen (ala darvin hamm and what did he do in the nba?)
Dirk Nowitzki is measured at 6'10 in the 1998 NBA Pre Draft Camp, which prove that the trivia in wikipedia is slightly wrong considering that he was being mentioned as being the 1st 7 -footer to win the 3 pts. competition.
I do personally think that he is much closer to 6'10 than being a legit 7 footer, we all know NBA players exaggerate their height. Beside Yi Jianlian is taller than Dirk Nowitzki, when they face each other during the Germany-China Exhibition Game.

yeah, Im not disagreeing, just pointing out how much misinformation about height is out there (and propagated by the league and players no less). I expect the average pg to be listed at 9' by the year 2020

Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Garnett are the new breed of Forwards, who will probably revolutionize the way we see our bigmen having a perimeter game in the future. It must been 20-30 yrs. ago that the NBA never envision taller guys having a decent ball handling ability and can pretty well shoot from the outside. If Kevin Durant and Dirk played in the 1960's and 1970's they will all be considered as a Center. That is also one of the main reason that the NBA currently lacks the Natural Center because some of the best bigmen in todays game are playing other position.

There's the BandSwitch guy talking out of his ass again.

yeah, uhm, there have been plenty of good outside shooters who were big men (My personal fav Bill Laimbeer comes to mind). I will agree that all three players you mentioned are very versatile big men (and 2 are great athletes, not sold on the third yet) but cmon
Durant is exactly 6'9" This is a good move...he is more of a SG than Green is. Durant isn't that similar to Dirk either. He will be the only SG anywhere near 6'9" Durant's offensive game is a mix of Bird and Jordan.
