Williams. He's proven an unbelievable amount in only 2 years. I don't really see Paul being next to him right now.

baron davis no doubt both those other guards are too soft, but even though deron got shot down for five straight games by bd i will say he has the better season unless peja comes out of nowhere and gets paul's assist numbers even higher

Deron Williams outplayed Baron in the G.S. series ... you do know this right? Granted he did get hurt, but if Baron is in shape, healthy (big ifs on those two), and is as motivated as he was in the Dallas series for an entire 82 game season. He'd be the best PG in the game. Like he was first half of 2002-2003. Thing is, he never sustains it ... he just teases me as a fan. Deron is more mentally stabile and controlled. Plus his coach keeps him in line. Davis is passionate, but sometimes gets out over his skis.

Averaging 16.8, 9.6, 4.0, and 1.2 while shooting 45% from downtown and winning the series comfortably is what you call getting shot down?

Deron Williams has a better supporting cast, a better coach, a better system, and has more experience being part of a winning team. Paul is gonna have to prove himself coming back from his injury. Also, New Orleans has some decent pieces in place, but he's gonna have to do a lot of the heavy lifting.

So I guess it depends on how you define success.

Games 1 and 2 Jazz didn't have their normal backup as Derek Fisher didn't make it until the 4th quarter of game 2. Jazz were playing AK at the 1 at one point. But who cares if Deron didn't play in the first half? He was there at the end.

Or maybe because he was a second year player playing in his first NBA postseason. Baron is a veteran; veterans know how to draw fouls.

Maybe, but not for long. And if you want to play that game, then Deron's first WCF >>>>>>>>>>>> Baron's entire career.

The question concerns Chris Paul and Deron Williams. Where you decided to spout off about Baron Davis is what's irrelevant.

Paul is going to surprise some of you this year because his team will actually have spacing (assuming Peja and Mo Pete don't miss the whole year). The past couple years all 5 Hornets on the court usually had to be in the paint to score and Paul still found ways to get them open looks. Most of his criticisms aren't very accurate he shot 35% from 3 last year and I wouldn't consider his on the ball defense a liability. His best assets are his hustle/scrappiness and his ability to take care of the ball even in traffic and that is where he has the big edge on Deron.

You will change your minds this year.

Bdiddy is a notch above both of them for now IMO he can takeover in many more ways.
