Re: Who's going to have a better season: Chris Paul or Deron Williams?
Other than staying healthy and helping his healthy team to the playoffs, having a slightly higher fg%, and a .4 higher assist number, while also leading ALL SOPHOMORES in turnovers, Deron still wasn't as productive a player as Paul. Yes, Deron's TEAM was more productive, but Deron wasn't quite as productive as CP. I'm in no way saying Deron isn't a good player though. He is. But I think Paul is going to have a good third season and honor Skip Prosser in the process.
With respect to rebounds, steals, turnovers, personal fouls and free throw percentage, Paul is still the more productive performer. Williams does offer greater shooting efficiency from the field and a few more assists, but these two areas where Williams is better is not enough to close the gap between the two players.
Again, I do not think one needs Wins Produced and Win Score to see that Paul has clearly been the better player. He was better in college and better in the pros. Yet people still wish to argue that Williams is now equal or superior to Paul. What has caused this confusion?
Re: Who's going to have a better season: Chris Paul or Deron Williams?
Deron.
He is slightly better shooter (especially from 3pt range), can post up smaller point guards and play more physical defense, and is a much better rebounder. Paul is a tremendous PG, but isn't as well rounded.

I don't agree with any of those points. Deron is a better mid-range shooter. Deron shoots a lower % from 3, his defense is not better than Paul's, and I don't see how you can possibly think he is the better rebounder. The arguments I will validate for Deron is that he is a proven winner and better mid-range shooter.

I agree. Paul is a better rebounder and still managed to put up better rebounding numbers than Deron while having the #2 rebounder in the league this season on his team.

Most of his criticisms aren't very accurate he shot 35% from 3 last year and I wouldn't consider his on the ball defense a liability. His best assets are his hustle/scrappiness and his ability to take care of the ball even in traffic and that is where he has the big edge on Deron.
You will change your minds this year.
Bdiddy is a notch above both of them for now IMO he can takeover in many more ways.
he is a thick notch over all them suckas thats what im talking bout yobore ur rite completely, way to go, cant nobody hold em
Re: Who's going to have a better season: Chris Paul or Deron Williams?
Both put up similar numbers last year, while Deron was a third option, and Paul the first option. I expect Paul to average more PPG, but Deron more APG.
Re: Who's going to have a better season: Chris Paul or Deron Williams?
It's not a big difference, but Paul is a little better. If NO could stay healthy enough to snag a playoff spot, more people would see that. As for the poster who brought up defense, Deron certainly has the tools to be a good defender, but has been pretty porous so far. Chris is better in that aspect of the game.

?
If NO stays healthy, Paul's points will go down, Peja will become the first scoring option, pair that with Peterson's scoring.
Usually if you are the first option offensive option, like Paul was last year, your stats will go up.
Michael Adams put up elite statistics in '91 averaging 27 PPG and 11 APG.
But he was just a decent player, having the major statistical load put on him, being the first option. And he was on a bad team.
Paul as a first option put up great numbers for a point guard, arguably top 5 point guard numbers.
The only time I recall seeing Deron as the first option is in the WCF, where he put up ~26 PPG, in the playoffs.
That's why Deron is ahead right now, Paul change that next year with a solid season and solid playoffs.

CP3... he has to feel the motivation to play better since D-Will dominated last season... besides D-Will has much better supporting casts that can share the load with him... CP3 basically just has Peja and D=West as other scoring options...

Peja and D West is plenty of scoring not as much as Boozer and Okur but close. The problem was they were only on the court together for the first few games of the season then West and Peja weren't around. West managed to come back and play at the end of the season but they had no shooters at all. Again, with Peja and Mo Pete the team will have much better spacing
