Default Earl Boykins opted out of 3.2 million for 07-08

Was this a mistake?

Hard to say if the decision was a poor one. It's clear by now that he will not get another offer worth $3 million, so he surely regrets the decision. But I think his goal in the first place was to find a longer term deal that pays well over 3 million for the whole length (such as 6 million over 3 years) - he wasn't assuming that somebody would offer him 5 mil a year or anything.

He took a gamble that wasn't neccesarily a stupid one, and it didn't pay off.

He will probably latch on to some team somewhere, but him opting out is the beginning of the end of his stay in the NBA methinks.

How is he doing fine in the NBA? We're a few weeks away from training camp, and nobody has made him an offer yet.

A threat to shoot the team out of rhythm (and out of the game) isn't exactly the kind of threat you want coming off the bench. I say this with full knowledge of some of Boykins' impressive overtime performances.

no one wants to pay big bux on a very undersized shoot first point guard. Big bux being anything over 2.5-3 mil. He shouldnt have opted out

He should have taken it... I don't understand how he is in this league, he can't defend anyone because of his size, he's such a big liability.
