If he doesn't make the Finals this year it shows Pippen is right to say he is the most overrated player of all time
Garnett has the intentional mindset as one of his first options to create for others. He's not a heavy duty scorer that brings 35/13 every other game. He's a 22/13/6 player. Dirk is a 25/9/3 player. Dirk's never been as high on assists as Garnett.
Dirk's Highest Total Assists: 263
Garnett's Highest Total Assists: 495
Dirk's Highest Assist Average: 3.4
Garnett's Highest Assist Average: 6.0
Plus the fact that Garnett is considered to be the best passing big man with Duncan for the most part. Garnett is very unselfish and finds open players out of the post very well.
As for stealing. Garnett's highest SPG average is 1.7. Dirk's is 1.4. Garnett's highest steals total is 139. Dirk's is 111, and that was the only year he was ever in triple digits for total steals in his entire career. Garnett has had triple digit total steals 8 times
, and his lowest total steals in a season is 78. Dirk's is 52. And since numbers is the only way to determine steals, besides their defensive awareness, which is another thing Garnett is better than Dirk at, it's pretty safe to say Garnett is the better stealer.
Not a better defensive rebounder? Have you just started following basketball like last month? Garnett is the best rebounder in the league.
Dirk's 2006-07 Defensive Boards: 571 (8)
Garnett's 2006-2007 Defensive Boards: 792 (1)
Garnett led the league in defensive boards this year. Oh, and not just this year. He's led the league for 5 straight years
and counting. He's a rebounding machine. I can't believe anybody would even say Dirk has a case for being as good of a rebounder as Garnett. Dirk hasn't even averaged double digit boards ever in his career, while Garnett has averaged 13.9. Dirk's rebounding titles? None. Garnett's? 4, and one in 2nd place. Dirk doesn't hold a candle to Garnett's rebounding ability, that's silly.
