Diaw is a great defender. Even in his Altanta days. There probably are times when he gets overmatched, being the undersized center he is, and the Suns don't have anyone to anchor thier defense, so he will get burned now and then. But he is a great defender.
I agree with those who said that while Marion is better now, Diaw will be better in two years.
I think Marion is much better than Diaw right now, but some say he is a franchise player and I don't think so. Did you guys saw his series against the Mavs? He sometimes didn't even look involved in the game, because he is in trouble when have to play half-court offense. The Suns have too much forwards so they could try to trade Marion, but... does anybody think any deal involving Marion could improve the team?who would they get? Probably just a decent center and role players, and I don't think they will trade him for another start, as would not fit into their share-the-ball offense. Well, that's just my opinion
the fact is marion can't play 1 on 1 , he scores only on nash's passes he can't create by himself, but he's a heck of a player on transition, when playoffs are comming his value back down cause he can't play halfcourt, he need space, just look at last year.
Diaw is still young, but he's surely not a center a lineup with nash, bell, diaw ay sf,marion at pf and amare seems pretty nice to me.
oh england sucks more than a SUV,you'll see very soon
With Amare back I dont see why Diaw still can't thrive at C. His play making skills and on-point 12-15 footer would compliment Amare's power well. Let the Matrix run wild with now #1 Amare and let Nash and Diaw dish it to the other three. Also with Leandro, and possibly T.Thomas if he returns coming off the bench, the Suns will overthrow the Mavs as the most versatile squad in the league.
As long as attitudes stay in check, this squad should work wonders.
