I also think Lebron has the best shot but I want Kobe to win it this year. I am not saying he is certainly the better player or contributes more than Lebron but it is just beyond hard for a team as bad as the lakers to make the playoffs in the competetive west. I am not a Kobe fan but I genuinely believe he will deserve the award as much as anybody as long as the Lakers make the playoffs.

It'll probably be Lebron or Nash or Kobe
But it should be Tim Duncan.

I'm going out on a limb here but I think Arenas has a great shot. Think about it. He's coming off a season where he was firing on all cylinders then he got injured. Being the competitor he is, he's bound to come back revitalized. He's been working hard this offseason, added 7 pounds of muscle, and has said his defense is vastly improved.

As far as the team success required for the MVP, the Wiz have a great shot at winning the SE with 50 plus wins. The Heat have fallen off, Bobcats & Hawks are still too young.

If they stay healthy, win the division with 50 plus wins, and if Arenas continues his dominance throughout the entire season, I really don't see why Gil can't be the mvp.

LeBron will only win it if the Cavs improve significantly and make it to the Finals again which I don't see happening this year. The Cavs are the same team last year, and they had the easiest road to the Finals ever and got swept.

The MVP will definitely go down to one of the best players on WC powerhouse.

Look, i love Gilbert Arenas, but Gil does do alot of talking. He says his defence has improved, Gil says lots of things, and usually exagurates alot.

I'll have to see it to believe it. And Gil will not win the MVP this year.

Well, even if he doesn't improve his defense how much of that is necessary? Dirk and Nash aren't lockdown defenders either. There is definitely a possibility for Gil. I'm not saying he's going to win it, but there's a chance.

Someone who has time to blog cause he likes to talk a lot in all likelihood will never win the MVP or get to the Finals. The Wizards will even have a hard time making it to the playoffs this year in the new and improved ECF.

Errr ... making it to the finals is certainly not a pre-requisite for winning MVP since the MVP trophy only takes the regular season into account.
