Although i don't totally disagree with you, the biggest problem was the miss tackling. There had to be at the very least 20 missed tackles. At the college level, defensive coaches should not have to worry about teaching their players to tackle. And the lines on both sides of the ball were being completely controlled by USC. Any RB could have averaged 8ypc with the holes USC's line was creating.
And that fumble on the kick-off could have been huge for Nebraska. If they could have recovered that they could have went ahead 17-7. But with the way the defense was playing that might not have been enough.
