Default Fewer blocks than Steve Nash

Everybody knows that Steve Nash is a terrible defender. Not only is he short, white and unathletic, he also has a rep for being soft and uninterested on the defensive side.

Having seen Nash every game for the last couple of years, I can tell you that he improved his defense significantly just in the last year. One consequence is that he posted 12 blocked shots last season, easily besting his career high of 8.

To celebrate, here's a list of well-known players who had 12 blocks or fewer last season...better luck next year, chumps!

Antawn Jamison--12
Mike Bibby--10
Allen Iverson--10
Peja Stojakovic--10
Ricky Davis--9
Kevin Martin--9
Chauncey Billups--8
Juwon Howard--8
Antonio Daniels--8
Michael Finley--7
Chris Paul--6
Michael Redd--5
Tony Parker--4
Chris Duhon--3
Mike James--3

Did Earl Boykins not rack any blocks up on his career total of like 5 for the career?

Most of those are smalls who aren't expected to block shots, but Juwan Howard getting outblocked by Mike Bibby made me laugh at the screen.

I remember a few years back when Stockton got a behind the back block on Shaq...

I'd be very interested if you could find a list of names of where nash got his 12 blocks from =P

Boykins had 4 blocks last season, which shouldn't surprise anybody.

He had 12 blocks the previous year, though.

The most shocking one on that list is Jamison. What is he, 6'10?

Ricky Davis doesn't do squat but dunk with his athleticism.

He had 12 in 05?? Damn. I remember some announcers were talking about it when he had gotten a block a few years ago, but maybe I misheard them. Boykins is the man.

I only remember one of them--Ridnour tried to shake Nash for a jumper 1v1, and Nash packed him. I think Nash got more of that ball than Ridnour did.

Wow, that's a pretty embarrassing stat for Jamison.

Antawn Jamison should record 12 blocked shots on the year by ACCIDENT just for being atheletic and 6'10. Disgraceful.
