Default Portlands cursed? Hell no. blessing in desquise

Without Oden, the Blazers are probably a lottery team... Isn't that great? The Blazers get one of the top 3 picks and then they pick Beasley, forming probably one of the best frontcourts for many many many years to come. A starting front court in Beasley, Aldridge, and Oden? That's crazy, not to mention a back court in Roy and Jack which is also pretty damn good and some nice, young talent coming off the bench.

Cursed my ass.

Even if we get O.J. Mayo I will not be satisfied until Oden is 100%. If that does happen, I completely am on board with this.

omg i never thought of this! SOMEONE TACKLE BRANDON ROY, QUICK!

Still, I see Portland hanging around 7-14, not in Beasly or Mayo range but still in a position to land a quality player.

I really don't think it'll have that big of an effect. Oden probably would've produced the same numbers as Channing Frye will in his position. Only thing this will do is kill the fans spirit and hurt the depth. I'd be so happy if Portland lands a top 5 pick next season though.

If they get a good pick in the NBA Draft next year then I think it'll be ok to call this team the next best dynasty in pro sports.

Oden is the type of guy that changes games without his numbers though. Teams will have to adjust their offense because of him. Frye won't do that. Plus Oden was our only true low post player. Aldridge and Frye both play high post.

So who's going to start at C? Is LaMarcus playing PF and Channing playing C, or is LaMarcus playing C and some other kid is playing PF?

I don't see how you know people were going to game plan around Oden when he hasn't played a game yet.

Frye is already established in the NBA as a shot blocker and inside scorer with a little midrange jumper. Frye is pretty much a poor mans LaMarcus Aldridge

Frye and Oden do the same thing as well but Channing Frye can somewhat stretch the defense while Oden stays in the blocks. Just because Frye is skinny as hell and Oden is a little thick doesn't make them different

Both block shots with ease
Either one starting probably would've averaged 12-15 PPG & 8-11 RPG

The only thing IMO that Oden is better at is Big Name Hype and passing out of the double team.

Neither are/were going to have the year it would've taken to turn around Portland into that big team THIS year

Thats on Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge...both are expected to big time scorers and defensive stoppers.
