Default Yet Again....Fixing the Knicks

Like there is anything else to talk about in the world of basketball....

First off, I'm gonna pitch my idea... feel free to flame, especially if you feel your team is gettin' rapedd in the deal.
Secondly try to come back with other realistic options of teams that may want some of these players.

Trade 1:

Francis or Marbury + Richardson + Future considerations
for
A. Miller and K.Martin.

Somone has to go on the Denver frontline. Too much invested in Anthony, Camby, Nene and Kenyon for all to stay. Miller has been nice, but they need a little more scoring from the gaurds and someone at the 2 gaurd.

Francis / Boykins
Richardson / Patterson / Hodge
Anthony / J.R.Smith
Nene / Najera
Camby / Klienza

Trade 2:

Francis or Marbury + Taylor
for
E.Jones and B.Cardinal

Memphis needs to add another punch to go with Gasol. Taylor is a big expirer, much like Jones. Cardinal is an overpaid wasete of space. Where better to send him. NY could use an outisde shooter with some D.

Marbury / Damon / Lowry
Miller / D.Jones
Gay / Warrick
Swift / Ar.Johnson / Taylor
Gasol / Tsakaldis

NEW YORK

A.Miller / Nate
Crawford / J.Rose / Collins
E.Jones / Lee / Balkman
K.Martin / Frye / Cardinal
Curry / James / Rose

NY gets a much different look at PG with a PG that actually like to pass.
Rose, Jones are both huge expirers.
Isiah gets to keep his "prized" rookies.

If needed to make a deal work, add future picks, Nate, Lee or a resigned Q.Woods.

I think you're gonna get torn up for that one. Just a hunch.

Trades 3 and 4 are impossible. you're totally overrating crawford and curry. they're not looked highly upon across the league. you're not going to turn those 2 busts into Darius Miles, Vince Carter, and Zach Randolph.

JC reminds me of VC. JC can't finish like VC but he loves to slash, and take over games with outside shooting.

how many games does Crawford "take over" with his outside shooting? once every 82 games...tops!

I'm prepared.

As a NJ fan and NY fan, I like it.
VC is overrated, he and RJ are somewhat redundant, and I would really like to take a chance on Martin.
VC may be lost for nothing after next season anyway.

If needed all trades from NY can include future picks, cash, etc...

It's like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Knicks need to just ride this team out this one year and see what happens. Once and for all, let's see what this talent does with Isiah at the helm. If and when it fails, then you can start selling off the high priced pieces for $.50 on the $1....

I didn't say he made his outside shots....Neither does Vince all the time either.

With Portlands revamping of the roster.. I think we would love ot get rid of Miles and Randolph. I don't think too many teams will want either of those players with their bloated contracts, character issues and injury histories.

Perhaps NY could tempt them more with expirers instead? (Rose or Jones)

In fact if that trade didn't happen I'm not sure if the Knick's wouldn't be better off with Rose or Jones at the 3 and Frye or Lee at the 4, with Curry, Frye and James at the 5.

NY needs to move all this "talent" for expiring contracts.

straight up expiring contracts. it would probably take another two full seasons for the knicks to rid themselves of all players but their youth in exchange for expiring contracts, but NY will only become a dangerous team when they're allowed to cash in on being a big market ballclub once they have some cap space.

just imagine... if the knicks had been around the cap when they traded for AD/Rose, after that contract expired, it would have plunged the knicks 14+ mill under the cap.... the knicks with 14 mill in cap space? you think lebron would have re-signed in cleveland with the knicks being a viable option? you'd be... lebwrong.

In the proposed deal.. Carter, Jones, Rose, McInnis, Nochbar would all be gone by the end of next season.

All they would really need to rid themselves of would then be Curry, James, Cardinal and M.Rose which will be easier said than done. Who in their right mind would want James, Cardinal or M.Rose? At least Curry has "potential" to be a very good player. Regardless they would continue to have to bribe other teams to get rid of players such as these.
I just can't think of any teams or deals what could get rid of these players

Exclamation

ehhh, i'd just try to do eddie jones for marbury straight up.

then somehow try to get your hands on chris webber in exchange for francis, malik rose and lee.

let rose expire, houston is off the books after this season, as is mo taylor.

NY isn't that far away... there's no way NJ is trading VC, especially to NY for crawford of all people.

package frye with jerome james and jamal crawford for anything package of players that only have 1-2 years left on their deals...

with these moves, by 2008, you're 15+ mill under the cap easily... ready to reel in the big free agent fishes.

think about it... you Knick fans have suffered for how many years now? is two more seasons of watching them going to hurt as much if you KNOW that free agent salvation is just around the corner? because really... what are you hoping for right now? that Zeke of all people can right this ship?

Charles...I trusted you

Yes, I would love to have Kmart back, who wouldn't? Only if it were through a buyout though. Also, if I get angry about Vince chucking up shots, I can't believe how angry I'd be with Crawford, he's also very undersized for the position. Sure I'd love to get rid of McInnis' contract, but not like this.

Jerry West would NEVER take Francis Marbury or Crawford on his team.

Nets will be real smart if they can trade carter near the trade deadline... they will get the most value for him then...
