Jay Williams recently worked out for the Lakers and I personally believe that it would be a great addition. Now, Im not expecting him to be as good as he was at Duke or his rookie year with the Bulls but this is a player who has extreme heart. He was a great scorer, a good defender, comes from a very good system, and would be a nice fit for the triangle. Im not expecting him to start but if he comes back at half of what he was then it would definitely be a steal. Now I know he did have the life threatening motorcycle accident and he may have lost a step or two, but he was never known for his athleticism as much as he was known for his heart. I believe that he feels he has a lot to prove and he will definitely leave it on the floor every game. It would be a good addition and he should come relatively cheap, so it should be worth the risk. Opinions?

It was way before the signing of shammod williams. now u want 5-6 guards on our team? those we have are not enough? who is going to pay this???? lakers have no money left
it would be a minimun contract I would assume and as long sa there is roster spots the Lakers can spend minimum contracts to fill the 15 spots.
we have no roster spot. right now we dont have spots for pinnock, profit and penny(if they sign him). where are you going to put this guy? I would prefer penny over this guy. he can atleast mentor our young players

That is a shame because after Devin Green and Pinnock's performance I really want them to stay. I will be really sad if we can't get those 2.
Devin Green had 26 points yesterday and was said to have many moves.
word from those attendance at J Williams earlier workouts said that he has no lateral movement anymore, no elevation...he was never a great outside shooter nor great passer...thus he has little basketball skills anymore.

That's his dumbass's fault.
He shouldnt have violated the NBA rules. Thats the difference between a rookie and a veteran. and his selfishness cost him his career.
oh, woops sorry about that. i thought i remember reading somewhere that he doesn't want to play in the triangle. not sure if he ever actually played it before.
Jay has said that he doesn't want to play in the triangle and it makes sense. He's a traditional point guard who is not a good spot up perimeter shooter. He wouldn't fit.
Jay needs to go to Europe or even to the d-league and play in games. It may take him a few years before a team gives him a decent contract, but he needs to do it.
