I think Rip is definately a better shooter than Carter. He has much more consistency.

Melo has a better jumpshot then Carter, so does T-Mac, Chauncey, Rip, and several others.

Who cares if some of Carter's percentages are better, we all know T-Mac is the better jump shooter. Sometimes a player is just that damn good.

How do "we all know"? I think some people are saying McGrady is the better shooter because he is more labeled as a jumpshooter. But that doesn't mean he's better at it.

vince carter??? i havent looked at his stats but all that sticks in my head are his recent 3-15 performances vs Toronto

Melo is a much better shooter than Carter (Unless this is simply just 3 pt shooting). and i dont even know if Melo should be top 10. does VC shoot around 50%?

Yeah but the major reason Melo shoots 50% is because he attacks the rim so much. I wonder what his pure jumpshooting percentage is. Their FT%'s, Melo wins, but not by a big margin. Carter is the better 3 point shooter. Mid range? Its a tossup. But its Melo's lack of 3PT shooting and his rep as a slasher that makes me believe Carter is the better shooter.

I had no idea people would think so wrongly of Carter being in the top 10. He can shoot jumpers from half court, he's a clutch shooter, he has good percentages, he's gone 9/9 once from 3, he's a good FT shooter.

And by the way, it's top 10 shooters from all 3 aspects of the court. (3, Mid Range, Free throw).

It's weird not seeing Brent Barry on a top shooters list, but I guess it's justifiable. He hits about as many three-point shots as Kyle Korver does, but at a better percentage. However, Brent does lack the versatility and prolificacy(shooting-wise) that the other players on the list have. It's a solid list though, and I agree with your ranking of Vince Carter.

I think Kobe or Allen are #1. You know what you are going to get every night, every season, every time with Kobe. Very consistent, dominant shooter. Allen too.

Yeah, I love watching him play. He is such a good shooter. Very underrated.

Carmelo is NOT a better shooter than VC and he shoots just under 48% not 50%. T-Mac isn't a better shooter either. Carter has shot over 40% on 3's 3 times in his career.

I don't like the term "pure shooter" because everyone has a different definition of it.

I don't consider any of those guys who can't create their own shot great shooters. Same goes for those goes who are only effective with the ball in their hands.
