Delonte West and Jeff Green are not "crap." Nor is Al Jefferson, a 16/11 big man at the age of 22. With numerous other valuable youngsters sent to get Garnett alongside Jefferson. And that's only two stars brought in. You think ATL can get three. Not happening. They'd have to wipe out their roster just to get Bryant. Marion (20/10 sf) and Kidd (one of the top two pgs in the game)? Not a chance.

The Lakers would have to take Speedy Claxton's bad contract.

Doesn't seem likely though.

Josh Smith and Lamar Odom are so far from redundancy its not even funny. Totally different playing styles

Although Kobe vs JJ isn't exactly a lateral move, I don't think that the Hawks would improve given the amount of talent that we'd have to give away to get him. If somehow we kept JJ, their skills would be so redundant that they wouldn't be as effective.

Personally, I think that the Hawks will be fine as is

Speedy/Law/Lue
JJ/Salim
Marvin/Childress
Smith/S. Williams
Horford/Zaza

That team is going to surprise this year. I am predicting 45 wins.

That certainly is a bold prediction.... they just seem too weak in the frontcourt to contend with the real big men of the league

either Horford, Smith, or Marvin would have to guard KG, Duncan, Amare, JO, etc... which doesn't look too attractive

When doesn't Bravo predict the Hawks having a good season?

Not the way the Williamses have played so far. We've seen no sign of the talent that made these guys lottery picks, I won't call them busts yet but especially with Marvin Williams it's high time he showed something.

Don't you Hawk fans predict 45 wins and the playoffs every year for the past 3 years? Seriously? 45 wins would be good enough for the 5th seed in the East.. yet Atlanta looks more and more like the 5th seed in the Southeast depending on how Charlotte turns out.

Unless Marvin turns into the #2 pick he should have been, Sheldon Williams turns into the type of player a #5 pick should be and they get decent play from the PG position, this team will have another top 10 pick to look forward to.

Phoenix can't afford to pay a top 5 pick. In any event, the Hawks you are now entering their early prime years being 3rd and 4th year vets. JJ is going to solidify his all star status. If Horford plays up to his potential we are a 45 win team. There are teams that jump up from the bottom every year..ala Toronto...we will be that team this year.

So you think they'd trade away a top 5 pick to save a few bucks?
