Default Joe Johnson or Michael Redd?

Considering my last thread barely got any responses, why don't you guys voice out who the better player is in general?

Obviously, Johnson's one to consider, especially tweaking his ability to be a potential leader, and is still in fact young.

All-around, Johnson easily, scoring-wise, a bit of a toughy, so what are your guys's thoughts?

I really like Johnson a lot. I love the borderline PG skills. The fact that he can create for others, and handle well enough to soak up ball handling pressure. I think he's a little underrated strictly as a shooter. And I think he's a really good defender. There really aren't many non-star players in the league I'd rather have then JJ.

Joe Johnson pretty easily for me.

Redd is a pure scorer/shooter. Nothing else. Not great defense, not a great rebounder, not a spectacular passer, not a playmaker. A scorer, that's pretty much it. I don't know about Johnson's D, but I know he's a good shooter (though not as good as Redd) and a great passer. He can create for others and himself. Sometimes falls in love with his shot a bit, but he's still a solid scorer and in the upper echelon of the league in that sense. Wish I could watch more Hawks games, I like him. His potential is pretty high, maybe a 27/5/5 player in the future if he's the main man.

I cosign to this...Joe Johnson is a play maker and a lights out shooter, and Mike Redd is pretty one dimensional...He was pretty good at defense when he first came into the league, but now he doesn't seem interested on defense..

Joe Johnson all the way. He can score, dish the ball, and defend. He can play 3 positions.

Probably Joe Johnson. I agree with what Thorpe said. Plus, Redd is an awful defender. 82games.com has done some research on new defensive statistics, like on/off court comparisons, and Redd has repeatedly ended up at the bottom of the league in defense.

But Redd's one of the top pure shooters in the game!

Redds form is text book
JJ is the better player though...Was the best defender in Phoenix when he played there.

Joe Johnson is much more offensively versatile, and defends better

I don't think that text book would be the right word for it. It isn't ugly at all but it definetly isn't text book.

But it works wonders so who cares what it looks like?

i agree textbook isn't the right word, he's got more of a slingshot release ala Peja then a smooth form like Ray Allen

JJ hands down. Although, neither one of these guys has been good enough to help their team win on a consistent basis so far.
