the sonics are not the worst team in the league

just having durant on the team ought to guarantee that they will be better than minn and atlanta and philly

but i am not going to argue for the last five spots in the league...

I think the rockets should be above utah.

I think the yao and tracy having to be healthy is getting abit old, You have to assume they are now healthy and will stay healthy all season, only when they fall to injury should that effect the rockets power ranking.

Also you forget also bonzi wells didnt play much last season and now he's reunited with a coach that got the most out of him. so you could say he is an addition to the team

The rockets have many guards but you can also say they have alot more assets for trading now than they did before so if you look at that they could trade for which ever need the team requires.

But I think the addition of steve francis, mike james, scola, aaron brooks and bonzi without losing any quality pieces of the team makes it one of the best offseasons a team has had in the league other than boston

Where as utah on the other hand they beat the rockets in 7 but they really haven't added anything new to the team to find the right mix. Although deron will get better and boozer will to, I dont think thats more than what the rockets have done

Memphis is too low. Entering training camp they have no injuries, something that played a major role in last season's horrible record. Heck, even Damon Stoudemire is claiming to be feeling good. And if healthy, their roster is pretty decent, especially with the additions of Conley, Navarro and Milicic. They certainly will be better than Philadelphia and Indiana, at the very least.

And as much as I liked Philadelphia's late season run, they should be 2-3 spots lower.

Indiana
Philadelphia

And the following are too low:

Clipper fan? :-)
Anyway, the Clippers could be very well teh bottom seed. Without Brand, they will probably look to have a good ticket for the lottery.

with all their injury woes, last year they were one victory below orlando and three below lakers. with their squad healthy (if that's even possible ) they're better than them easily and probably on par with GS, raps and wiz

they will surprise a lot of people this year

Despite my Memo mancrush (still the only modern jersey I own, in pistons blue of course), I also think they are a little too high. Serious questions at the 2 and the 3 (esp. with fish gone and AK *****ing). Also not sold on the pg depth behind williams (again, no fish). Still should be a top team barring injury. At the same time, I dont think you put Houston over them just yet (they did beat them last year and memo showed how solid a defender he can be when asked to do so). Maybe the bulls? Maybe the pistons? probably not the cavs. Despite their winning the ECF last year they are weak at every position outside of the 3 and (sortof) the 4/5 rotation. Can boobie step it up for a whole year? can they drop those huge deadweight contracts for some useful players? How do you reconcile having a top player (lebron) who would thrive in a faster paced game (esp as the point forward) with an aging but still effective traditional center?

8) Cleveland Cavaliers (50-32) -
A contender to represent the East in the Finals, again, but we'd rank them higher if they actually signed someone.

hey, they signed Devin Brown

The Lakers are too high. They should be 15th. Toronto, Washington, and Golden State are primed to have better seasons than the Lakers. Kobe Bryant will once again be asked to lead a team of scrubs and the enigma that is Odom. Toronto should build on the success of last year. Washington are a good team when they're big 3 are healthy, and Golden State will run wild in the West and improve upon their late season run.

Look, I am a Raptors fan, so the Hornets addition of Morris Peterson instantly makes me like them on a sentimental level. I also think Mo will play well for your team. But seriously, there is no way the Hornets will be on par with Golden State (beat Dallas in playoffs) or the Raptors (Atlantic Division Champs) IMO. Washington if your lucky. If the Hornets prove me wrong, more power to them.
