Re: Which team out of nowhere will join the elite?
I'll go out on a limb and say the Chicago Bulls. They have really stuck to their guns in terms of personnel and playing style, I think they have as good a shot as NO or Memphis if not better.

i dunno who will jump out and surprise my money would probly be on the hornets although i believe utah aint gona be that great this season maybe even mis the play offs
Re: Which team out of nowhere will join the elite?
Bulls are joining the elite this year. Keeping the team together will really pay off in a way unexplainable, and finally young stars will turn to star veterans...see Deng, Hinrich, Gordon. Don't forget Noc as one of the better subs in the league, he would start on a lot of teams.

Those guys are STACKED!
I don't think anyone's going to come out of nowhere like pho and sea did in 04-05.
I love their young talent and aquisition of J-Rich. Trading B Wright was the right move for now, but if my UNC boy Sean May doesn't stay healthy for his career, they are gonna miss having a very young athletic talent like Wright downlow. That aside, Okafor is a great shot blocker and rebounder, with a still improving post game, Ray Felton has mad talent already and much more potential to bank on, Gerald Wallace is straight nasty with it, and J-Rich will really help on offense. They truly should make the playoffs this year but they also might need 1 more year before they become EC playoff regulars.

Agreed.
Deng, Gordon, Hinrich are the 2nd most formidable trio in the east. With Big Ben down low, and Noc of the bench, thats a lineup that has the capability to make it out of the east.
